Food was ok. Nothing special about it. Our server was more interested in being in the back chatting with the other servers than actually helping us.

Stopped for lunch. The service was great. Several individuals attended to me all with a smile. I ordered one of the lunch specials(¼ chicken with fries, salad, and drink). I was amazed at the generous portion size with a price tag of $ 6.95!!! Great food … And great deal! I will definitely return.

This place looked good outside. We walked in with my kids and wife and they denied us. They said they were only doing take out. However, the place had people sitting down eating. Lady was extremely rude.

Just left after a long wait. No one came to our table. .but there were several people cleaning the tables and one walked past us to look at an accident on the highway. Must not need the business.

Was introduced to this place by my boyfriend, who knew of this place by his(needless to say, Peruvian & Irish) bro. This place is yummy!!! I’m awful for not remembering the exact names of the dishes but even from having tried an appetizer and a couple of their dishes before, I’m sure any dish on their menu is deelish! My go-to is their quarter chicken w/yuka, it comes with a small salad to start. Service is good! Sometimes it’s on the slower end, but not a big deal if you’re in no rush!

The chicken is freakin’ amazing! I went in with high expectations bc of the Unilocal reviews and of course the name is Chicken house so yeah, but they far exceeded my expectations. I ordered the chicken wing appetizer which although they were incredibly tiny may have been the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. I’m not sure what they use for breading but it was delicious. I wanted to ask but I’d Rather not disappoint myself when I try to recreate the taste at home. I also ordered the whole chicken which comes with a side of yellow rice and a salad for $ 16.95 but considering the portions are very generous it was well worth it. My only gripe is that I ordered a side of Maduros(sweet plantains) and they were Burnt to a crisp. However, since everything else was amazing I just couldn’t give them less than 5 stars. Instead of takeout Chinese this is a great friend Wing and rice alternative!

Very good food. The chicken is wonderful. We also had a stuffed baked potato and it was very tasty. The yellow sauce is very spicy but good. The house salad is just ok, lots of iceberg lettuce but green dressing very refreshing. Motzeralla sticks were average, very chewy. Prices are very reasonable and service good. We will go back.

We had the yuca a la huancaina which was very tasteful. A side of chicken wings that were very tasty too. The Pescado a lo pobre testes good but we thought it was a small portion. The service was a bit slower than previous time, but the place was packed with customers. Overall a very nice place to have a bite of Peruvian taste.

5 stars for the food. got a platter of various different meats and rice and potato. it came with a variety or excellent sauces. My favorite was not the yellow or green(still very good) but a VERY hot green salsa. Atmosphere was a 3, but it’s pretty inexpensive, so it makes up for it. Good service.

Simple and delicious neighborhood spot! Was pleasantly surprised that they also serve beer and wine. The Los Vascos red is the perfect complement to the simple ¼ chicken, rice, and salad platter. Five stars for quality of food, price, service. Ambiance is definitely ‘hidden gem’ quality, meaning it’s not anything special(very casual), but I feel like that’s exactly what it should be for the price. This will certainly be a new go-to for us.

Very solid take-out place. The food is delicious, the portions are plentiful; and, considering it’s grilled chicken, it’s relatively healthy. If you’re on Kirkwood Highway and are craving chicken but don’t want all the extra calories, skip KFC and Royal Farms and head over to the Chicken House. Put the yellow and green sauces on. They make the chicken. I’m withholding the 5th star until they change their name. In honor of Gus and Breaking Bad, this place needs to be called«Los Pollos Hermanos.» Make it happen Chicken House.

The chicken wings were really good! Very tender on the inside, crispy on the outside. The sauces that came with it was good. The grilled chicken was so so good but the ones from Perucho(down the street) is MUCH better. The yellow rice wasn’t too flavorful. Our server forgot to give us yellow and green sauces(didn’t even know they were supposed to come w/the chicken until I saw other people’s orders). She also didn’t bring us our salad(we had to ask for it). She also didn’t bring us any plates when our appetizer came(were we supposed to eat off the table?). The prime beef with fries and sauteed onions and tomatoes in soy sauce was meh. Pretty bland. The mango juice was huge but tasted like it pretty much came out of a can of Kern. Overall, not the most exciting experience. The wings were very good, otherwise meeeeh. Probably won’t be returning here. I’ll be at Perucho down the street for some delicious peruvian chicken.

I love Peruvian chicken! I only gave 3 stars because: The chicken was not flavorful at all. That is the primary reason I visit any Peruvian restaurant. The plantains were very good — they are really really hard to mess up. The rice was A-Okay. The yucca was well over cooked and were hard and dry. The ceviche was pretty good.

Despite the Peruvian restaurant down the street, peruchos getting a better review this place is far better and way more authentic. My favorite dish is the pork chops served with rice and fried eggs. The pork is always cooked just right and the fried eggs over rice is perfect. You can never go wrong with the chicken its always juicy and marinated just right and is relatively cheap for a whole chicken. They also make a spicy yellow sauce that goes great with any meat they serve. If are stuck on a drink get and have never tried Inca cola I highly recommend it since your not going to find it in many places. Place is great for take out just buy a whole chicken for $ 10 and you have a family dinner that nobody will be disappointed with.

I came here with a few coworkers who wouldn’t stop raving about the chicken and infamous«green sauce». Unfortunately, I was very underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, the chicken was solid and the price was very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Still one of the better options if you’re in the area.

The best chicken around. The preparation is unique and it really makes it. Everything from the salad to the chicken/rice to the sides were amazing. Awesome selection of south american beers. The aji sauce is out of this world. Do not pass this place up

I stopped by the Chicken House last night with my brother. Because it was Mon., my first choice Peruvian chicken place further up Kirkwood Highway was closed, so I decided to give CH a try. My mom had gone out with a friend to Ruby Tuesday, and I didn’t feel like cooking or foraging, so I suggested it, and my brother was game. It’s a good thing that he’s a more adventurous eater than my mom, or else it’d be difficult for me to find someone with whom to share an ethnic meal when I’m visiting the ‘rents! We did take-out, and ordered the meal that came with a whole rotisserie chicken(a la brasa) and fries($ 16.95). I asked if this meal also came with a salad, as I’d read on a menu online, and they said that it didn’t, but my brother wanted fries, so I ordered it anyway. They asked if I wanted the chicken cut into four or eight pieces, and I specified eight. Additionally, I asked if they made their chicha morada(Peruvian purple corn drink) fresh, as opposed to being from a bottle or can, since I’d noticed that this was how it was served at a Peruvian chicken place in Pittsburgh. They affirmed that they make it on site, so I ordered a cup($ 2.95). They said that our order would be ready in about 15 min., so by the time that we made it over there, it was ready for pick up. The highlight of the meal was definitely the chicken, which was juicy and had the delicious seasoning I’ve come to expect from Peruvian pollo a la brasa. I thought it was on par with the Peruvian chicken place I’ve been to in Pittsburgh in these respects, and my brother, who’d never had Peruvian chicken before, enjoyed it very much too, devouring his half ravenously. I also greatly enjoyed the sauces that came with it, though I preferred the green sauce to the yellow sauce. Unlike the Peruvian chicken place in Pittsburgh, they must include mayo in their green sauce, since it was lighter green and had a creamier consistency than the green sauce I’ve had there, and it wasn’t as spicy. The yellow sauce had more of a spicy kick, and was also quite creamy, but I didn’t find the flavor as appealing as the green sauce. While the chicken was solid four star quality, several factors edge my rating down to a 3.5(rounded down to 3, as is my custom). First, the chicken was cut into four pieces, rather than the eight specified. Second, the fries were clearly of the frozen steak type, and became soggy in the styrofoam container that they came in by the time we reached home.(Also, I hate styrofoam take-out containers b/c they’re so bad for the environment!) Third, the salad that was included with our meal(despite that the person I spoke with over the phone said that no salad was included) had iceberg lettuce(my least favorite kind) and colorless hothouse tomatoes. Fourth, I suspect that while my chicha morada drink didn’t come from a bottle or can, it was made from a mix, based on the flavor, which, as my brother commented, was reminiscent of Hawaiian Punch. I was hoping for more of the complex flavors and spices to emerge. Despite these reservations, I’d suggest trying the chicken at CH, esp. if the competition down the street is closed, as it was in our case. Just stick to what they do best, and you won’t be disappointed! 3.5 stars.

The chicken house was very tasty, juicy and flavorful. The sausage that was in my meal was excellently spiced and was not dried out. The potatoes were okay, but a little dry(a problem that was easily solved with the yellow sauce). The fried plantains were terrific, sweet and sticky and warm. Use the yellow sauce, use it on everything, get extra even. It’s great, creamy with just a little bit of heat. The green dressing used for the simple salad was also very good, the salad itself was just a head of lettuce with tomato. Ceviche was a little limey for my taste, but had a lot of good seafood in it. Service was friendly.
