The items on the racks are mostly ripped, torn, dirty, old clothes left in the bottom of a laundry bag covered in cat hair etc… I don’t know if Newerg is just the end of the line or what. I am used to seeing handicapped people working in this type of store however things have changed. When the coats there are 99.99 is when this thought really was driven home. Also taking away our points and our birthday discounts was another slap in the face. So for the good part. The regular staff is very helpful and kind. The temps do try to help most of the time but it would be nice to see them happy in their work, with some motivation and positive feedback. I still go there and will continue to do so because I am a disabled senior and only shop on senior day until they take that away too. We seniors mostly live on LESS than 1K a month that means after housing food and meds there is little to spend on clothes to keep us warm, let alone clean and presentable to the public. I would highly recommend a BACKTOTHEPAST approach to anyone wishing to go into competition.

What is it in Newberg, both this Goodwill and The Newberg Thrift store clearly are in it for the money, not for helping others. Well, we all know why Goodwill is so expensive, gotta pay the CEO his $ 6 – 8 million a yr but the other, is just typical capitalist mentality, they keep telling me what the cost of the same item in the store it. And I keep telling them ‘this is someones garbage”. You didn’t buy it new, and aren’t you supposed to be helping those with low income, including those who shop in your store. They always seem shocked I would say such a thing. And they have a ton of stuff, so much so, it is uncomfortable to try to shop there often. So I finally gave up, not going back there. Now only shop at the newer one, Lucky Finds, which is the local youth help org. They keep prices low, bless them and clearly their about the issue of helping not competing in the marketplace.

Went to look for furniture and was disappointed in their selection… Lots of lamps and smaller housewares items though! Got a set of four glasses and a couple baskets… Three stars because the employees were acting like I was in their way. Not mindful of me and my shopping cart waiting for them to move so it could get down and aisle and the check out lady said she didn’t have anything to wrap my glasses in… So I suggested using their plastic shopping bags which she thought was odd but I didn’t want my new(to me) glasses to break on the way home! The clothing section did look nice and the store was clean.
