After living in San Francisco for over 25 years and experiencing some of the best wines that Napa and Sonoma Valleys could offer, we moved to Portland, Oregon. Soon after, we started visiting local wineries and becoming especially acquainted with Oregon Pinot Noir. Wow, what a nice surprise. I was not aware of how good the Willamette Valley wines are. We discovered Privé Vineyards and found that they produce amazing Pinots, particularly Le Nord and Le Sud. Their Port is also superb. Privé is a small family run winery with a very loyal following. Mark and his wife are very friendly and always make us feel welcome. This is a little jewel in the Oregon wine country.

Some friends turned us on to these guys. A beautiful little setting in the back yard. The owners were both there to pour us the wines. Nice to have the owners involved. Great Pinots! Hope to be back for a big event. Sounds like a blast!

Tina is a warm and amazing wine maker. I love the elegance she brings to her wines. The vineyard is positively magical. It is an exclusive experience I would recommend to anyone. I think the port knocked my socks off. Truly special!

Prive was a terrific experience for myself and my group. Tina was incredibly down-to-earth and enthusiastic about her craft. Having previously spent a chunk of time in France, I was taken back when we entered Prive’s gate — the ambiance, architecture and greenery was a wonderful setting. Naturally, the wines were brilliant as well.

I was introduced to Prive last January(signed up for a limo tour) and so thankful this was one of the wineries we were taken too(they don’t have an open tasting room, need to make an appointment). We have been back 4 times since for their memorial day/thanksgiving day weekends and private tastings with friends. The owners Tina and Mark make this place special. Something to be said about the owners pouring and talking about the love they put into their wine vs. a hired hand over the summer… Tina and Mark are so down to earth, funny, passionate, and truly good people! Now the wines… If you get a chance to try the Le Sud or Le Nord please do and buy as many as you can! I love their Syrah, my sister lovers their Malbec and my wife loves thier Mélange. Also try the Ruby Port… Actually don’t try it as you and your friends may drink the whole bottle. Having red varities other than just Pinot Noir makes the tastings fun! My wine qualification? Non, other than I love to drink wine! Call for your private tasting and get on thier mailing list.

Previous reviewer must not have actually tasted the wines. Did the Chehalem Mountains AVA Taste and Tour. Nice small vineyard, beautiful setting, very friendly and knowledgable people. This was my first time to try their wines. $ 20 to taste 2 wines, but once tasted — then filled my glass with my choice, then as much as I wanted to eat of the made-in-front-of-me pizza in the brick wood-fired oven. The pizza was really great and everyone was having a very nice time. Walked away with 3 bottles of the Pinot(my glass choice).

I wasn’t treated very well a few years ago when I tried to taste these wines,($ 20 for tasting 2 wines etc), so I left huffing and puffing, vowing that I’ll never return again. I swallowed my pride this time, they had 6 wines to taste and so I just had to do it. Well… I didn’t miss much. I could review all the wines I tasted but that would be a waste of time. Even if these wines had any character or hidden flavors/personalities they were all masked by an overwhelming and overpowering veil of alcohol. They all tasted the same!!! The cheese and bread they served was really good though!!!
