We had a good experience! Our server, Sarah, was very nice and friendly. The service was quick. The restaurant accommodates small children and families, but that’s nothing to complain about. We all need a place where it’s ok to bring a kid. :) Prime rib dinner special was cooked well and tasted good. No complaints! Oh, they also offer stevia as a sweetener which I think is a nice addition. No aspartame sweeteners were even available. That’s classy.

Came in specifically to try their«pie shakes» which is a milkshake with a piece of their pie blended into it. It was around 7ish on a Sunday and pretty empty. We were seated quickly and the waitress directed right towards the shakes on their menu which was greatly appreciated. I had a banana cream pie shake and my cousin tried their chocolate silk pie shake. Out of the two shakes we both preferred the banana. It was delicious, and really how can u go wrong when blending a piece of pie and ice cream? We didn’t try any food, but they have a huge«Denny’s» like menu.

I don’t know what happened to this place but the service has completely gone down the drain. Ordered takeout a couple weeks ago, they pretty much forgot everything that was ordered, so by the time we got home it was too much of a hassle to go all the way back, so I called instead. told the manager that our order was missing both the side salads, the Au jus sause that came with one of the sandwiches, that the sandwich itself just had meat. nothing else.which isn’t common for a french dip. especially since we’ve ordered it from there multiple times before, my food was cold and the mashed potatoes were hard and I was missing the cranberry sause… the manager apologized for the experience and offered a full refund which was awesome except for the fact that he never really refunded me, so that was neat. I unfortunately had to come in a few days later with a friend(didn’t mention the refund because I figured it just hadn’t come through yet) and we chose shari’s since it’s the only place that’s not fast food that we can go to late night. .got seated at a table by a young man with an annoyed attitude, my friend was ready to order but has a severe MSG allergy so she wanted to make sure her food wasn’t going to have any of that in it. .he said he would go ask…10 minutes later he came back to the table with some waters and said that he had forgot to ask, he left again and nearly 20 minutes later we see him hanging out behind the counter, waited a bit longer and he started getting drinks together for another table, after more then half an hour of waiting we just decided to get up an go, he just looked the other way when he saw us walking out. Bummer because I liked coming here, goodluck with that service..

Shari’s was pretty decent before the remodel. After the remodel the service changed and I feel like they are trying to be more than what they are, which is an easy and quick place to get a breakfast, lunch or dinner. There were service people everywhere, trying to upsell everything and a manager type person who was just too much. I tried the Friday night prime rib special, it was a very tough and gristly piece of meat and overcooked past my specification(don’t ask how we would like it cooked if you can’t do it). We will certainly try them again, and have been customers in the past. But I would like the over attention to die down, and if they can’t provide a decent prime rib then cut it off the menu. Still love the breakfasts and the other good foods when we get them.

Absolutely the worst service, Denny’s is far superior! The management should be fired! Seriously, this company will go bankrupt!

Stopped in about 7:00PM Sunday evening for dinner and sat at the counter, our burger and Philly dip sandwich were yummy, Brigitte our server was outstanding, friendly and quick to see to our needs. Another server cruised by and checked on us to see that our order had been taken. The manager actually escorted us to our seats and got our water and drinks. We were pleasantly surprised at the level of service we received, we’ll be back. Of course we took delicious pie home, a slice of Key Lime and a slice of that crazy pumpkin creamy confection. The pie is always out of this world, and there are so many choices it makes it really difficult to choose!

Note: The One * was because of the disappointing pie experience. Please read the entire review — the meal was surprisingly delicious! It was Christmas Eve, 2014. I was alone. Sigh. After working all day, I took gifts out to my brother’s house and dropped them off on the sheltered porch of their country home while they were out to dinner — as is their, and my, usual practice for the eve. I’d though about doing some fast food, but alas, all restaurants were closed down as enlightened management permitted their workers an evening off duty. But, the«Open 24 Hrs» sign glowed above the Newberg Sheri’s Restaurant and Pies store located on 99W, drawing me in like a tired and singular moth to a flame. Inside, business was brisk. I was quickly seated, but waited for table service, menu, order taking and food delivery. In other words, service was leisurely at best. I decided to start out with a side dinner salad; it was the minimum one could be considered to be a «serving», but okay. I would have liked a little more dressing, but my server, who called me «Hun», Sweetie”, «Darlin’» and«Sugar» at various times during my dining experience wasn’t available to make the request. For my Christmas Eve meal, I ordered their«Cedar Plank Wild Alaskan Salmon With Rice Pilaf and Willamette Valley Vegetables», served with grilled garlic flat bread. While it looked as if the fish was actually cooked on a cedar shaving, the entire meal was surprisingly delicious. What? A «surprisingly delicious» meal at a Sheri’s Restaurant? I do not jest. The salmon smelled and tasted fresh, and was properly seasoned and cooked. So were the rice pilaf; being nicely seasoned, and firm, not mushy. The Willamette Valley Vegetables were just plain yummy. Had I know, I would have ordered a «side» of veggies. Not only was it Christmas Eve, it was also Free Pie Wednesday evening, so I ordered a slice of my favorite, their«Chocolate Cream Supreme» pie. With another trite term of endearment, my waitress slid the plate on the table as she zoomed by. What was on the dessert plate was a pitiful disappointment. How can a diner, renowned for their«award winning» pies serve such a thing? I was looking down at a tiny wedge of white, with about a tablespoon of chocolate filling hiding behind it. After waiting about five minutes for«Hunney» to return, I asked her if what she served me for dissert looked like the photograph of this variety of pie, that dominated the page of their dessert table tent. «Sorry, it was the last piece.» she quipped and walked away. I had a long drive awaiting me, and more work to finish in the office that night, so I took the check up to the cashier without further comment. While waiting in line to pay for my meal, I wrestled with the«tipping question». I left 25% — after all, it was Christmas Eve.

Came expecting to eat chocolate lava cake and Cinnama-sation French toast at 9pm. However, they were out of the lava cake. The server instead gave my friend and I two turtle sundaes for the price of one. Both the toast and the sundaes were delicious.

I was in town for a week by myself and ate at Shari’s 4 times. The food was good each time. I ordered a waffle with strawberries, cheeseburger, omelette with French toast, clubhouse sandwich, and pie. The food always came within 5 minutes. The servers were nice. They let me sit for hours in my own booth reading. They are open 24 hours, which is convenient. And they have free pie on Wednesdays. Their prices are also reasonable at $ 8 – 10 for the entrees I ordered. I rarely post on Unilocal, but was surprised by the poor reviews and wanted to add my experience.

I am just reviewing Friday night’s Prime Rib. I have been looking forward to the Prime Rib with all you can eat shrimp. We sat to order a cup of chowder, our medium rare Prime Rib, mine with a potato, my husband mash potatoes. The first sign was when the server said«we will do the best«referring to the medium rare. They forgot my side. My husband’s side was not what he ordered. The Prime Rib was cold and over cooked, not warm, COLD. Server said they will reheat it. I looked at my husband and wondered ’ are they cooking our medium rare Prime Rib that is already well ’ …YESTHEYDID. Even for $ 14 with the shrimp it was not worth it. The best part was the bread and the shrimp.

As a vegan, I don’t expect much from a large chain restaurant. This place had icy cold AC cranked on a super hot day when I met my once removed cousin the farmer before going to visit my great uncle with him. Service was friendly and the salad I had was satisfying — the apparently bottomless peach iced tea was delicious and I left very well hydrated! My cousin and uncle were very happy with the recommendation of the«lemon sour cream pie» — and it was very pretty to look at( ). the restaurant was pretty clean, though the bathroom was a bit shabby and worn.

Had a bad one star experience here a few years ago… but time passes and things change, including the staff… Had to give ‘em a try to see if things got better, and THEYHAVE! I now increase my rating to 4 full stars… and will be back again next time I’m out in Newburg. I would still give the other Shari’s locations that we regulary visit closer to Portland a little higher rating, but gosh golly, these guys are a now a LOT better than the were when we visited a few years ago! Yeah… It’s nice to report good news, so I’m stretching this one up to 4 stars…3 and half would be right-on, but don’t want to make the lower increment of 3, so 4 it is. The food is better than it was, and the staff is attentive as it should be. Nuff Said… If you want to try a really great Shari’s location, try the Sherris at exit 10 off the I-205, just 10 minutes east of the I-5 /205 junction… friendly staff any time of day, and NEVER had a lousy eating experience there in 17 years. We also buy take-home pies here as they are the location closest to home.

Stopped here this morning, around 11:30, on the way back from the beach. We knew it would be busy but Shari’s has always been good at giving quick service.(This was are first time at this location). Told it was a 15 minute wait, it was. Was seated at a table, table was wet, very wet. Given menus and told they would be right with us. After watching 3 other seated and no service what so ever… no water, no coffee, I took the menus, walked up to the register where the manager? and 3 waitresses were standing, handed them the menus and said, «I can see your real busy, we try later, Thanks!» Will never try again at this location!

Took my daughter here on her first birthday for her first piece of pie! Free on her birthday! Our waitress Laura was attentive and fantastic! My daughter had so much fun and we were well taken care of! Shari’s is a diner type-chain restaurant so obviously do not expect fancy local food, but for who they are, I haven’t seen better!

Ok. We have given this Sharis several attempts over the past four years and it seems there is always something badly wrong. Last night one of us ordered a salad and not only did they not wash the lettuce there was a freakin bug in it! Gross! Also don’t drink the tap water thy serve you when you first show up. nasty place! Go to taco bell! This Shari’s is total crap.

The second star is being extremely generous, and they’re only receiving it because they give free pie on Wednesdays. Service is painfully slow, food is semi-flavorful, but my eggs benedict came with a completely cooked yolk, and it’s difficult to get your servers attention. If i’m starving, i’ll go there.
