Luscious Cupcakery

I can’t attest to the taste of the cupcakes and I apologize for leaving a negative review. I would like to comment on the service I received when I went in late one Saturday afternoon. There was no one by the counter so I waited a couple of minutes and then called out to someone who responded. «I’ll be up soon». When the person came out, she was rubbing her nose and was not dressed appropriately for work, let alone a job that requires handling food. I then asked for 6 cupcakes and as she pulled one out she saw a hair on it and then pulled off the hair! Gross! I felt bad calling her out so I just coughed up the $ 15 and left feeling grimy.

I am so disappointed!
Sent the hubby out to get cupcakes to curb a pregnancy craving. He headed to Luscious Cupcakery in the early afternoon. When he got home I thought he had gone to a school bake sale based on the appearance of these two cupcakes (s’mores and sweet cinnamon). The cupcakes were small, frosting was sparse, and the overall taste /​texture was just not good! The s’mores cupcake was sooo dry and its frosting super gritty. It seemed like a cake baked days ago not just hours before. The sweet cinnamon was really dense however the frosting flavor was good. Unfortunately it only covered ²⁄₃ of the top of the cake. Based on this first experience I can’t imagine going back. The upside is we only wasted $ 5. The downside is I’m pregnant and I really want some cake!

This it’s such a cute little place and the meringue on these cupcakes was out of this world.

Great staff, great selection of cupcakes, normally require 48 hours for a custom order, were very accommodating and patient with me when I requested if they could do a few on shorter notice. Get the cupcake with a filling, it’s worth it! Great to have a place like this in Newburgh.

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately the cupcakes are AWFUL. I purchased one of each flavor that was in the display case and brought them to a friends house. Just to give you an idea, caramel vanilla, classic vanilla, chocolate chocolate, cookies n’ cream, chocolate mint, peanut butter, red velvet, carrot cake. Everyone tried 8 adults 2 children them no one liked them. Not even the children, and kids will eat anything sweet. The icing tasted like it was made from Crisco. Leaving a film on your tongue, lacking flavor and the actual cupcakes were dry. Plus for almost $ 3 a cupcake they were very small with little icing. Which I guess in this case is a good thing. I won’t be going back.

Not bad tasting, but not the best either. Plus for the cost the size and amoun of frosting was kind of stingy. Although I will say that the frosting was tasty. Could have used a filling too.

I am so glad to see a cupcake place in Newburgh! We got the black and white (chocolate cake, buttercream frosting) and the coconut delight (white cake, coconut frosting) and both were to die for. The chocolate cake had to be the best I ever had.
She also had this chocolate cake to sample. It was so rich and tasty.
The only downfall was there were only three or four flavors of cupcakes, but it was the end of the day so that is probably why. The site shows more flavors, and I want to try them all.
