I shipped from this location and they stole contents from my package. They changed my tracking # after they stole the expensive contents also. Fishy. Luckily I still have both tracking numbers for court purposes. They also resealed my package after the theft with their own packing tape. The owner/manager, Peggy, is ignoring all of my contact attempts. She is also deleting my comments and questions off of the business’s Facebook page and having her employees leave 5 star reviews to offset my negative Facebook review. This place is so corrupt and dirty — avoid it. On the morning of August 3, 2015 my father brought the carefully packaged, sealed, large box filled with my valuable possessions to the shipping center at 56 North Plank Road in Newburgh, New York. He took the time to pre-package and seal my things in an insulated, sturdy, firmly packed box and even pre-wrapped my purses in bubble wrap. We thought we were doing the right thing by taking the extra steps to properly protect my items. We were wrong. We protected my things against water damage and crushing, but not for THEFT. At this Newburgh location, no one asked him if he wanted to insure it. No one asked him what the declared value of the package was. The ONLY question the representative asked my father was, «what are the contents of this package?» He answered honestly, divulging what was in the box never imagining that it was be used as a motive for theft. On Friday afternoon, August 7, my package was delivered to my apartment building in Chicago. When FedEx packages are delivered to my building, they get scanned by the FedEx delivery driver as they are unloaded into my buildings guarded and locked«package room.» Furthermore, I receive an immediate, automated package delivery alert email from my building as FedEx is scanning it in during delivery. Anxious to finally retrieve my things, I went downstairs to get my package WITHINMINUTESOFDELIVERY. The box was intact. No dents, no holes, not even one real scuff mark to be honest. I still have the box in my possession and have taken pictures and video to prove its condition. Upon opening the package I realized that my large, white designer handbag was missing. To help the purse keep its shape during shipping, I had stuffed it with a smaller designer cross body purse, my ballet gear(ballet shoes, leotards, and a ballet skirt that I’ve used since I was 13 years old) designer make-up, essential oils, and designer sunglasses in their designer case. My heart sank to my feet as I fumbled through that box for my stolen purse and belongings. Gone. Other packed clothing with tags on it? Also gone. All of it. Gone. With a lump in my throat and tears streaming down my face, I realized my things were taken from me by a M.E. employee. MY things. Rummaged though and wrongfully taken by a greedy, unethical, immoral employee. Most of what was stolen, the items with the greatest monetary value, were gifts that were given to me by my parents. The thought of that alone makes my eyes well up with tears. Even though I shouldn’t, I feel guilty(as victims often do) that the gifts that they had chosen and purchased for me are now gone. However, It wasn’t my mistake. It was THISCOMPANYS fault. The priceless ballet skirt that I have danced in since I was a child is also gone and cannot be replaced. That intact box that was delivered to me was skillfully cut open at the seams by an employee, and then professionally taped shut again after the theft had taken place. Since this has happened to me, I have been nauseous every hour of every day. The thought that a trusted employee would do this absolutely devastates me. I don’t deserve this. No one deserves this treatment. When I am able to fall asleep at night, I wake up soon after wondering if I’m dreaming. I’m not. It’s real and This business is actively getting away with theft. That package was Federal Mail and They had committed FRAUD. Not to mention, STEALINGMAILIS A FELONY. M.E. claims that because my father, the shipper, did not«declare a value» on the package at the time of shipment on August 3, 2015, that they ARENOTRESPONSIBLEFORTHETHEFTTHATTHEYHAVECOMMITTED. Save yourself tears, money, sadness and aggravation and do not support this«business.» They are not trustworthy. They are thieves. They are derelict adults running a business and were obviously not taught right from wrong as children. I guess they need to steal other peoples belongings to make themselves feel important and valued. It’s all just very sad. UPDATE: fedex determined that I should be reimbursed for the theft. Peggy Lapidus, the owner, has my check in her possession but she is refusing to let me have it until the social media reviews are removed. She is blackmailing me. This is not a sound business. Avoid this business at all costs.

Save yourself some money and go somewhere else. After receiving my item they doubleed the first quote. I had to call them back and argue about the fee hike, they lowered afyer deciding not to doublebox my item. I reluctantley paid it. When I opened up my package I was shocked at the terrible packing someone had done. Half of the box had open space would which would allow my item to free float alla round the box and become damaged. Pieces of foam were thrown in randomly and nothing was secure. Never again.
