This was my third year planning a wine tour and I was very disappointed with the service I received on Aug 29. 2015. Although the price for the limo service was reasonable, I don’t think I will be using Special Guest Limo & Van service again. Fitz was very prompt in responding to my e-mails regarding reservations, the wine tour itinerary I had put together, and any additional question I had regarding the limo service. He was very nice and arrived early the day of our tour. The limo was clean and we had enough room for my group of 9. There was also complimentary ice and water in the limo. I had planned one orchard, three wineries, three breweries(including lunch) and one distillery for our 7 hour tour. I had sent a time table, which included estimated arrival and departure times. I sent Fitz a rough draft itinerary in the beginning of August and a final itinerary on the Thursday before our tour. I started to feel uneasy when we arrived at the orchard much later than I had expected. I quickly called the first winery and told them that we were running late. Luckily, they were very flexible and told us we could arrive later than planned. When we finished our first stop at the orchard I had expected us to leave right away, but we had to wait in the parking lot for a few minutes while a cell phone loaded the directions to the next place. I quickly entered the next destination on my phone, and offered Fitz to use it to find our way to the first winery. Since I was using my phone, it too had also lost service. We eventually made it to the first winery, but we were very late. I ended up skipping one of the wineries because we were running extremely late and were not going to make it in the allotted 7 hours. We spent a lot of time in the limo getting lost, and making U-turns. At one point I was giving directions on how to get to one of the wineries, and one of my friends took out his phone to help find one of the breweries. I feel like a lot of the confusion could have been avoided if 1) there was a use of an actual GPS instead of relying on a cell phone/cell phone service, 2) having feedback that the itinerary was not going to work, so I could contact the places I had made reservations that we could not make it, 3) if a cell phone was going to be used to find the locations, they should have been looked up/loading while we were at the orchard, or in the winery, instead of just before leaving each of the locations. I did think my itinerary was reasonable and I had even planned on adding an additional hour to the tour(I had asked a head of time how much additional hours cost/fees for going over our planned 7 hour tour). But by the time we got to the«last» brewery, my group had given me feedback that they did not want to sit in the limo/get lost anymore, so we cut out the distillery and the other brewery from our tour and went back to the campground. I’m sure Special Guest Limo & Van Service would have been a good choice for a point-to-point reservation as he arrived at our pickup location early, but definitely not for a full wine tour. This review is based on my initial planning and the overall group feedback from the tour.
