Kristen Mason, Childbirth Educator and Doula

Kristen was working on her certification to be a childbirth educator when she served as my doula for the birth of my first child. She needed to attend one more live birth in order to finish her certification.
Kristen was very knowledgeable about all aspects of labor and delivery. She is a proponent of natural childbirth and using various natural methods of pain management. However, her primary goal is to make sure you are happy and well taken care of. I fully planned on getting an epidural as soon as it was feasible and she supported my choices without passing judgment.
Kristen was also open to trying new things. I was interested in acupressure as a form of pain management. Kristen didn’t have experience with it, but researched it and practiced techniques prior to my delivery.
It was very helpful to have Kristen present during the birth. She acted as a buffer between me and family, clearing the room when it was getting too crowded or I needed to rest. She was also a helpful liaison between me and the medical staff, making sure I had everything I needed. She provided massages and encouragement throughout the labor and was a great source of strength to me during the delivery.
I would highly recommend either her childbirth education services or her doula services. I will definitely seek her out again when I am ready to have another child.
