I visited Dr. Swanson for the first time for a eczema that won’t go away. I’ve visited an allergist and found I’m allergic to metals, mainly nickel, which can be found in all plant based foods. Foods I eat most often. I explained this to Dr. Swanson and he said it was unlikely the culprit. He didn’t offer any other possibilities, but wrote me a script for a stronger steroid cream, and told me to use Dove soap. His bedside manor was the worst I’ve experienced. He would suddenly walk out of the room without explanation. It was very odd and made me very uncomfortable. I left feeling like I was just part of an SNL skit with man pretending to be a real doctor.

I can’t say that I have had success with Dr. Swanson. For the few years of meeting with him for skin related issues, none have been resolved. For every appointment, it’s the same answer — take the same creams over and over again and get no relief. The office is located in the Anna Jaques Hospital(attached building) Suite 3. Plenty of parking because it’s at the hospital. The office is old and dingy, chairs are uncomfortable, but the staff is very friendly and helpful. The Pros: — Staff are friendly — Appointments are easy — Cheap(although, cheap isn’t always best) The Cons: — Bedside manner is poor — Diagnosis is questionable — Doctors communication with the patient is poor I have met with this doctor on several occasions. Having had to use the same medication over and over for a few years for the same issue and going unresolved is useless and costly to me. Review completed 05/20/2015 Update: 06÷04÷15 Met with an Allergist who said the skin rash is caused from allergies related to certain foods like wheat and cows milk. With this information, I was 100% misdiagnosed by this dermatologist and wasted the last couple years going back for a skin rash he could not resolve. Be careful if you seek his opinion. Your rash may be a food allergy.
