Great store! Great finds! They carry select designer brand items, including DVF. Saleswoman was very helpful and brought us dresses we might like as we were trying things on. Definitely coming here again next time I visit Newburyport!

This place is a bit of a hidden jewel. They have many well known designers and a great selection of casual & special occasion clothing. I read another review where they wrote this place is «eye-gougingly expensive»(I just love that description lol). They are pretty pricey but they can pull it off. I like to go here when I have some money to burn or if I need something for a wedding or party. Think of it like going to Nordstrom but on a much smaller scale. I have loved anything I picked up at this store and usually feel that way for a long time after the purchase so I think it’s worth it. The staff is always helpful and friendly, not too pushy. Another thing that sticks out for me is any time they did not have my size, they have offered to order it and send it to me. They always have really nice end of season sales too!!!

Eye-gougingly expensive, but hey, what’d you expect, they stock luxury labels that I’d commit many murders for but alas, can’t presently afford(Theory, Elizabeth and James, Alice + Olivia, etc.) A small, well-edited selection of clothes but woe to ye who is not a size 6 or under, for ye shall be relegated to the poncho section in the back. I didn’t get that south-of-France feel so much as a what-celebutante’s-closet-did-I-stumble-into sort of feel. Regardless, lots of awesome summery tops, a decent jeans selection, and they carry Hankypankys, which seem to me to be the undergarment equivalent of Pogs(my friend collects them with a religious fervor.) Definitely a cute shop, though, and when they have a sale, I’ll probably be in line at 5AM.

Great store, love shopping here, but I definitely wait until the sales at the end of the season because there are great mark downs! :)

if you spend too much money on clothes, try doing it here. they have charming things, truly unique and fashion forward. only downside is sometimes the girls there act like little bitches. and not only that, SOMETIMES they act like little bitches who don’t know what customer service is. i know. horror of horrors. …so i’m like, listen HUSSY, my shoes cost more than your whole outfit– and i didn’t use an employee discount to buy them either, so don’t mess. [yeah, yeah, i sold my dresser for them, but she doesn’t know that, so like. whatevs.]

This place is a little pricey(even for Newburyport, yes). The selling point for me is that they sell Hanky Pankies. The only panties I will ever wear. They also sell designer jeans and other lingerie. I think they have a no-return policy though — so you better be darned certain that you want those $ 250 jeans!!!

French Lessons has a great selection of designer denim. I’m also a big fan of Velvet by Graham and Spencer, and they usually have an impressive array of their tees and tops. But the real fun is the huge clearance sale they seem to have twice a year. I’ve caught it twice now– in August and December. Savings of 70% off make some of the spendier pieces that much more attainable for working chicks like me. One warning: twice I’ve been in the shop and witnessed the young girls working there advising women to make a giant fashion mistake. The last time I noticed this happening they told what seemed to be a frequent customer that she simply must buy this giant polka dotted tunic that made her look like a Cirque du Soleil reject. So, if you’re head’s saying«I’m not sure» but the 19 year old is telling you«you look adorable! Go for it!» do yourself a favor and err on the side of caution. 70% off isn’t such a great deal if you wind up looking like a clown.
