My family and I went fishing yesterday with Mistie C. Charters and as always it was amazing. Usually we do the haddock and cod but this time we went for blue fish and it was some of the most exciting fishing I’ve done. They really put up a fight and are incredibly fun to catch. Captain C always does an excellent job of locating the fish when he can and really puts a lot of effort into ensuring everyone has a great time. We have had both Moe and Neil for first mates and they were both wonderful. Neil took extra time to show my mom, who doesn’t have much fishing experience, how to properly reel in the fish. I highly recommend Mistie C Charters and will definitely be going back soon!

Charlie and Moe took us(my work team) out and showed us a fantastic time. Caught some bass, tons of very feisty sizable mackerel, catching those mackerel was serious FUN. Just a great couple of guys, really showed the ropes to those in our group new to fishing. Really took care of us end to end, we had a total blast. Definitely not waiting till next summer to go out with them again, this time with my family. THANKYOU!!!

Booked the Mistie C for a charter with the family. Captain Charlie is the man! He took the time to explain all of the ins and outs to us newbies and the kids. We went out and caught live bait(30+ Mackrels) and the. We started fishing for big fish. A couple of drifts and we pulled in a ton of Bass. We went crazy and they were awesome putting up with our excitement! Tons of pics and fun. Highly recommend using Mistie C.

Whenever you go out for a new experience, to try something new, or for an ‘event’ like this that requires service You should look for two things(and hope for them) 1. People that are experts in their field providing their service and ready to help you 2. Those people understanding you are not an expert, and not making you feel like a dope for it! A lot of times, when you go to something like this(Weather it be deep sea fishing, skydiving, rock climbing, hang gliding, etc) you end up having an ‘expert’ who wants to prove how much of an expert he/she is, and how much you are not. It ends up taking away from the experience, and turning you off from doing it again. This is NOT the case with Mistie C. So I found their website, and emailed the owner/captain Charlie about a private charter for my friends Bachelor party. He did not seem like the most or least expensive, but right in the middle rate wise. I found some reviews, and I went over his website, and it seemed like it would be a good fit for us. It went out of Newburyport, versus Gloucester, Boston or the Cape which I liked. It was easy to arrange the charter. And when we ran a little late, he was understanding. We all got on the boat(6 of us, Charlie the Captain and he Crew mate Mcguire). He went over Safety protocol, general instructions, etc. And we head off! It was a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. This is HUGE. we are here for fun. You dont want to be walking on eggshells, sitting on the edge of your seat and worrying. The crew took the worrying and guesswork out of it, and let us enjoy it. A laid back atmosphere is key to anything — have fun! The day was great. weather was perfect, and they did all the hard work. The fee for the charter includes EVERYTHING, from equipment rental to bait to their expertise(which I will explain later). We got to enjoy the ocean, the sun, and reel in some big fish!(we took home 9 fish, 6 Blue fins and 3 striped bass. We hooked a couple others, and brought another bass into the boat but it was to small to keep(was 26″, have to be 28″ to keep) We started trolling for Blues, and got 6. good hits, and Charlie and McGuire helped show us how to reel them in, get them on the boat, etc. This is where the expertise started to come in handy. They made our lives easier, and were light hearted about it, and made us all feel comfortable. We arent experts, but never did they make us feel stupid or useless. We ended up going about 9 miles out to a different place to catch mackerel for live bate. This was something Charlie was excited for, and worked out well. Fishing for them was like shooting fish in a barrel(ha!). the 6 of us caught about 50 of them in 30 min. drop the lute in, hook it, bring it into the boat, and drop it again. We then went back to our starting area, and used the live bait to pull in the bass. This was key. I do believe Charlie when he said without the live bait we would not have had the bass. His expertise in knowing where to go and what to do made the day better. I am sure other people got fish yesterday. But we never saw other boats reeling in fish or pulling them on deck. Our crew knew what to do and where to go, and it made out day better. We got back, he cleaned, filleted, skinned the fish for us. We ended up leaving with maybe 25 pounds of Blues and Bass fillets, ready to cook(which I made some last night and were GREAT!). They did the dirty work, we enjoyed ourselves and took home the ‘bounty’ Suggestions for those looking to fish? 1. CALLMISTIE C! you will not be upset 2. Book a full day, not a half. Its not that much price difference, and you will be a lot happier with the results and experience. You want experts who make the experience better for you. This is what Captain Charlie and McGuire did for us. They kept it light, kept it fun, and kept us fishing and happy. This makes it an A+ experience in my book, and I KNOW I will be back and will book with the Mistie C again! They are worth every penny, and they are the experts. They know what to do, where to go, and how to make your life and day better at sea. Email me if you have any questions. it is a lot of fun and everyone should try it at least once!
