Geez this place is damn far in the middle of no where! But it’s quite possibly the best butcher I’ve found in the Seattle area. AND, it was open till 6pm. What’s up with Seattle people being OK with QFC meat??? We need better butchers, a lot more of them!
Beautiful bone in ribeyes, buffalo meat in the freezer, amazing looking seafood, I could sleep in the coolers here. We eventually went with the fillet mignon, a cut that I’d never get for myself due to the lack of flavor, but the kid wants it, so we went with it. I have to say, it was a VERY GOOD piece of fillet mignon. Good flavor, good texture, and due to the thickness of the cut, it came out perfectly rare the way I like it.
Service was very very friendly. If this isn’t so far from us, I’d come here all the time.

Their smoked salmon is really good! A co-​worker recommended I try this place out. You can sample some of the stuff before you buy it. I ended up buying their candy salmon and lemon garlic. It’s a great local gift to bring to people. :D

Craig’s the best! Just need a big screen tv for sports games — especially the Seahawks, and a little wine tasting, then you’re all set!

Large seafood and meat selection! Stopped by for smoked salmon and there were three kinds along with salmon candy. Bought two kinds along with some fresh coho and a twice baked potato.
Service was very friendly, and I was given two generous samples: the salmon candy and the salmon salad (think tuna salad but with salmon and lots of capers).
The fresh salmon was delicious — I prepared it that night and it didn’t require much seasoning (used a little s&p, basil, thyme, rosemary and fresh lemon slice). Hubby liked the smoked salmon — he tried the alder wood and said it is a bit fattier than he’s used to, which is a good thing in his book. The other kind I got was garlic.
There’s plenty to prepare a meal — fresh cuts of meat, fish, scallops and clams along with appetizer items like the twice baked potato I got and bacon-​wrapped scallops. Also a selection of beer, wine and spice rubs.
This location is across the street from Newcastle Produce, which means you can walk across the street for some fresh vegetables, fruits, pasta, chips & salsa, etc. to complete your meal.

Saw this place on the hill while driving by the other day. I will probably upgrade this review to 5 stars after my next visit, which will be soon. Bought some salmon candy (delish), pep sticks, which were very good (fresh but made elsewhere) & a pkg (1 lb.) of clams… still haven’t tried yet (in my freezer.) Good service with a can-​do attitude. Co-​workers were working, talking, enjoying some music & ready to help when I needed it! I will drive out of my way to come back many times in the future!

I have been looking a good butcher shop for a long time and I happened to find this shop tucked up in the side street of Newcastle.
It is amazing. They have the best meats. They also have wonderful seafood and a fun selection of BBQ sauces and rubs. They were so close and now that I have found them, I will go there all the time. PLUS great service — Roman was so helpful for offering serving suggestions on how to prepare the meat to get the best flavor.

This place is beyond fantastic. Assortment of meats and seafood is awesomeI I extremely highly recommend the alder smoked salmon. It is among the very best smoked salmon I have ever tasted, and I always get a bunch to go with me back home when I am in Seattle. Staff is super friendly and helpful with any request. Tried for the first time the smoked salmon salad, wow! Huge chunks of salmon, very good! Overall I would recommend B&E to anyone I know and will guaranteed be a many time return customer!!!

Found this place via Unilocal and it happened to be very close to the lake house we rented in Renton (South Lake Washington). While there are plenty of grocery stores around, this is the best place for meat and seafood. They had such a great variety of fresh cut meats, scallops, and deli goods, and the staff was amazing. Roman was so friendly and kind, and he was a lot of fun to talk to!
We bought some USDA Prime New Yorks at a very fair price — right in line with Costco — and they were top notch in marbling, cut size, and flavor. I also bought a bunch of scallops, which were actually way cheaper than Whole Foods, and they were the best scallops I have ever had! Super fresh and full of flavor and very easy to simply pan sear.
We also got some of their house-​smoked tri-​tip and loved it, and their salmon candy, which is great.
We went to Pike Place and it was definitely overpriced and touristy compared to this spot. I have to imagine B&E was just as fresh as well, even though it’s not a stones throw from the port!
If you are looking for good quality food to cook, this is the place to go. Better than Whole Foods and Costco in terms of quality and price and more importantly, personalized service. Plus there is not a Whole Foods or Costco real close to this location, so it’s a no brainer.

Picked up my Christmas prime rib last night and had a less than pleasant experience. The man behind the counter was impolite and just seemed irritated that he had a customer. I asked him about cooking the prime rib and he just answered, «I don’t know, I’ve never cooked one». I couldn’t believe the lack of customer service and I will never come here again.

I can’t say enough good things about these guys. I had a large list of meats to pick up, and they had no issue with breaking into the size groups I wanted. Each one was packed in plastic, then wrapped in the brown paper AND labeled for me. Super great customer service.
Will return!

I just visited this place for the first time and I’m hooked! The staff was outstanding and friendly! The choices and the quality exceeded my expectations! Prices were better than competitors! Oh! And the smoked salmon… Probably the best I can remember having! I wasn’t even there for the smoked salmon and now I think I will be a frequent patron for it… Often!
Nice job to the staff on this cloudy (Seahawks losing) Sunday! What a way to make this meat and seafood loving girls day so much brighter!

I just left the shop with soooo much more than I had intended to buy! Why? Because they FED me! A sample of this, a sample of that… I got 2 kinds of jerky and 2 kinds of smoked fish. YUUUUUM! It’s all so good and besides, all the guys who work there are SO cute. I’ll be back if, for no other reason, than to get my man-​candy fix (and candy salmon). Whoo-​hoo!

That guy Craig is such a hard worker. They should totally get a TV in there to watch and support the Hawks. They totally 100% did not ask me to write that.
Customer service here is top notch, always a smile regardless of how busy or how late in the day it is. Great suggestions on meats to accompany meals, and always willing to give a sample to ensure you are buying what you want.
The crew’s attitude is always attentive even if they’re helping someone else out. «I’ll be with you in a moment» goes a long way.
Product is fairly priced with the area (Safeway /​QFC), but definitely a good deal knowing the high quality they produce and carry. They smoke everything in-​house and carry a large selection of pre-​marinaded and prepared meats that always look tempting and I have yet to try.
Try all the jerky, they are crazy delicious. Favorites thus far have to be the candied salmon and the bison.
They also have pig-​ears once in a while, which our dogs love.

I love a family run business that is so successful it has more than one location to serve the public, but keeps the friendly one-​to-​one customer service! Well done!
Truly, this shop offers more than great cuts of meat. It is the customer service that really stands out! I love the one-​to-​one attention each staff brings to their customers. I had not one, but three great customer service interactions during one visit!
I had the pleasure of trying their candy salmon, which is divine! Wonderfully flavored sweet, but not sickly sweet, taste along with freshness. Their marinated Kalbi chicken boneless thighs are also wonderfully seasoned similar to an «island» taste marinade.

I LOVE this place. Just the smell of smoked meats when you walk through the door puts a smile on my face. The guys are all very, very helpful. Really patient. Really friendly and know just what to suggest. The place is extremely clean and shiny. Prices are fantastically reasonable and their meat is excellent.
Be sure to ask for a sample of their candied smoked salmon. That stuff is like crack!
They smoke all of their stuff in house so that’s where the crazy good smell comes from. They have a great selection of fresh, smoked and premarinated meats and seafood. They even have a frozen section on the side if you’re looking for something a little more out of the ordinary like elk or ox tail.
Tip for a happy life: get yourself a good hunk of animal here, go across the street and grab some fresh veg from the Newcastle Fruit & Produce stand, go home and fire up the grill and enjoy!

My normal butcher was closed on Sunday so I called B&E in Newcastle to ask their hours. I was told they closed at 5 but to get there early as they «clean out the cases».
When I walked in the «butcher boys» were playing loud head banding music with f this and f that over and over. I’m no prude but I don’t want to hear that while I shop for anything. I left in two minutes. I think they need some adult supervision.

Incredible selection of meats, sausages, and smoked products. A little less so on the seafood but just as good of selection as a decent grocery store.
There’s only one flaw with this place and I couldn’t decide to take 1 or 2 stars off for it — so I took 1 being in a good mood today… IT’S PRICEY!
Yes, I know, you get what you pay for but depending on what you choose, I would question the value at the high prices they are charging. They have stuff you typically can’t get in grocery store so you are sort of at the mercy of their prices.
But if you aren’t super price conscious and you like the feel and service of a ‘local’ meat shop, then this place fits the bill. Especially if you are shopping for a special occasion and want the «best of the best» or something out of the ordinary with money being no object. But I would argue you can get a lot better value for your buck as far as beef by buying prime grade meat from larger establishments like Costco. There’s something to be said though about supporting a local business although this place is a regional chain now and Costco is technically a local business, LOL.

I am a long time lover of B & E and used to drive all the way down to Burian for my meats, now this is my go to location.
Just like the other location, they are awesome! The butchers are nice, know what they are talking about and have such a selection. Their rib-​eye steaks on the grill are the best steaks I have ever had hands down and I am not a very good cook.
The only downside to this location being closer is that I can now feed my candied salmon addiction with ease.

Only one visit so far, just a week after opening. Broad selection of meats and seafood both fresh and frozen, unprepared, ready to cook, smoked, sausages, etc. Aside from the usual meats I was especially happy to see grass fed beef, buffalo, and elk.
I got the grass fed beef, elk, a couple varieties of sausage, and some smoked salmon. All were delicious and far better than the usual grocery store meats.
For the hunters and those buying direct from a farm, B&E does cut and wrap services. The facilities were very nice, roomy, and clean — definitely nice things to see in a butcher shop.
Prices for meats were very reasonable, I’ll definitely go back for more.
