I don’t want to post this because I want this place all to myself. This place is simply amazing. Sara our innkeeper has thought of everything in this gorgeous 1840s home. I am sitting in the living room afyer a wonderful nights sleep. Our room was immaculate and after we got back from the local public house our beds were turned down with candy on the pillow and there was ice water with crystal glasses in our room. This morning our breakfast was waiting for us at the time we requested. Oh. My. God. Poached pears in local raspberry purée. Hedgehog Eggs in a baked egg white merangue. A Maine version of a Pasty with local sausage and eggs. And fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee and hot chocolate and tea and and and… but the thing that makes all of it SOWORTHIT is Sara. This woman embodies the best of all possible inn keepers. She’s so caring about every small detail that I feel that I am in a home not an inn. She’s knowledgeable about the history and inhabitants of the house as well as about where you will want to have breakfast or go on a hike. I want to coma back in the winter at Christmas time if we can. Maine is crowded in the summer but this large and comfortable home makes it see like the crowds are worlds away. So. Stay here. Go on on the website and then call the number because she will pick up the phone and you can work it all out with her. Lovely. Just lovely!
