When you’re looking for a family diner setting where the portions are huge and bursting with flavor, this is the place. The fish fry is among the best you’ll find anywhere. One look at the overflowing parking lot confirms its a favorite of many. You won’t go wrong here!

Good, old fashioned home cooked meals. In addition to solid meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant also boasts a delicious dessert and fresh bread bakery section to entice your already packed bellies. After your meal, you are guaranteed to feel as though exercise is the only way to make up for all that grub you forced down. Don’t worry, Gordy’s has your back! Indoor shops with anything for customers of all ages, young and old are just on the opposite side of the large restaurant. Antiques are your thing? Got it. Baby gear? Got it. Snacks? Clothes? Gizmos, gadgets and thingamajigs. All under one roof!

Love this place! It’s in the middle of no where but a great joint with lots of character! The baked goods are amazing night and I would highly recommend their eclairs. All their breads are home made and they sell them as well. Food is good and I love going for breakfast. As if that wasn’t fun enough there are tons of shops to look at when you are done. It’s just a quirky fun joint that everyone should try at least once

Having lived in NC for the past several years it’s been a chore finding a good spot for breakfast that isn’t a corporate chain(i.e. IHOP/Bob Evans, etc.) so it was a treat to find this place once we moved here. The food was fantastic and the homemade bread was excellent. Pancakes were HUGE and the price is right. We’ll definitely be back!

We stopped here for breakfast based on Unilocal reviews. The dining area was large and had a country floral flair. Prices were definitely reasonable and while the coffee was just OK in my book the bacon was quite delicious. I also had a buttermilk pancake and an over medium egg. The syrup was delivered to the table in the biggest syrup dispenser I’ve ever seen. The bread, of which I didn’t get any, was all homemade and there were some delicious looking loaves near the checkout for sale. If we weren’t going to be on the road for another several days I would have bought one or two. They also had some Canadian candy bars for sale along with some nostalgic American candies.

Had lunch here today. Cute country looking restaurant, The food was good, and pretty inexpensive, I loved the bread. The parking lot was full, but we were seated immediately. The outside is pretty and they have tons of crafts and other cool things. Its a great place to eat and shop all in one.

I’ve always loved gordies! Always! First off my review is about breakfast. I had the western omelet and let me say their amongst the best I ever had. This place says 3 eggs, but unless their super sized, there’s noway that can be! There enormous here and so good! It’s stuffed with plenty of cheese, ham, peppers and onions! It’s terrific! And to top it off. It’s served with homemade bread of your choice(which you can also buy in the gift shop) so tasty and fresh! After breakfast, you can browse the gift shop, grab deserts and take some nostalgic candies home with you! It’s a great little place out in the country to visit for sure! Friendly people for sure! I’ll be back!

Fun place. Diner style food so order what they do well and stay away from the stuff they don’t. Cool little flea market style store

Went here for Ash Wednesday to have a fish fry. I saw the broiled fish reuben on the menu and it just seemed too interesting not to get instead. Thinking about the ingredients, it shouldn’t be good. A broiled fish fillet with Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing and sauerkraut on toasted marble rye should not taste anywhere near as delicious as it did. I can definitely say that this sandwich is on my list of best Lenten meals around. Nothing on the sandwich was overpowering. Each ingredient complimented the others.

Looking for a GREATFISHFRY on Friday night? This is the place. We plan our vacation around fish fry because for a small price you get a MASSIVE size cod and the fries was amazing. You also get fresh coleslaw and bread and butter. If you have room their pies are also great. My favorite is the coconut cream pie. It’s thick and zesty and creamy oh so good. If you come Fridays, you better come early because the line begins at about 5:30 pm. BTW: Breakfast is just as amazing. Huge portions. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and wasn’t disappointed… One egg, ton of bacon, pepper jack cheese, all between homemade sourdough bread. Just melts in your mouth… goowie good! I also tasted their raisin toast with plain butter and wow it was like dessert.

Wow this place is super popular! So popular that I had breakfast here twice on my recent trip to Newfane! It’s a fairly large place, but I can see it being very crowded earlier in the morning on weekends. When you walk in you are walking into the beginning of the«bazaar» where to the right you have a small room of candies, syrups, jellies etc to buy. Then you are greeted with a dessert case with freshly baked turnovers, sticky buns, rugalach, cupcakes etc. The food was delicious. If you get an omelet, it doesn’t come with potatoes so if you want them you have to ask. They don’t have a «sides» section on their menu so don’t be afraid to ask for something. The best part is they serve their freshly baked bread AND they sell it near the pastry case! When you are finished, stroll through the ‘bazaar’ where you can find lots of interesting antiques and modern things alike… literally everything.

I’m kind of bummed. I’ve been wanting to try this place because I like supporting local establishments. Also, the fact that they bake their own bread carried a lot of appeal. Things started off well. It was busy, but not packed, and we were seated quickly. Our waitress was friendly but slow. The wait for our bread and a fruit appetizer ran a little longer than it felt like it should have, but all was forgiven when I tried the bread. It was fresh from the oven with fabulous taste and texture. I think I tasted the slightest hint of cinnamon. It was magical. The rest of the meal was… less magical. Our entrees took a long time. My husband’s burger and fries were cold, but the seafood platter I shared with one of my sons was hot. The kitchen was short staffed but they should have made the seafood platter first, and the burger second. Even though the wait would have been the same, at least my husband’s food would still be warm and my impatient but justifiably ravenous son wouldn’t make himself miserable trying to eat hot food. My other son had popcorn chicken. The chicken pieces were very large so we had to cut them. The check took about ten minutes from the time we asked. The manager was texting when she appeared to ring up the bill. She didn’t ask about the meal so my husband had to volunteer his discontent. She sort of apologized, and that was that. He was not impressed. Guess I need to get past my weirdness about dining alone because the only way I’ll be getting that bread again is if I go myself.

This time I had the Broiled Fish Ruben Sandwich… grilled sandwich on homemade marble rye bread, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and broiled haddock. With that 1st bite I knew I had made the right decision. I was speechless, without speech. One of the best sandwich I have ever had. The haddock was so most and flaky.

Sunday 1pm you will find me and my family here at least once a month. We always go for the Sunday specials that include desert. Chicken/turkey/pot roast. The hot bread is to die for and we always bring home the sticky cinnamon bread. The meal portion are big and flavorful for a great value. That has always been what I look for.

The restaurant is nice. They have an adorable English garden outside that you can eat at. The food is cheap and delicious. We usually go there for breakfast. The flea market area is HUGE. It goes on forever. They have a ton of stuff: garden things, vinyl records, books, SPARKLERS, clothes, everything! It’s all really cheap. They also have a bakery with fresh bread and treats.

Although I was disappointed by Gordie’s, I should not have been; the word«Bazaar» is right there in the name, and in its purest definition, it was spot on. However, the way I, and most locals I assume, interpret a bazaar is as in RUMMAGESALE, which this essentially is: a series of garage sale items, used this and vintage that, from clothing to record albums, even a Dollar Store-esque pet goods cubicle. This old barn has repurposed each stall as a different vendor’s «store» where anything goes. Upon entering, there are interesting baking supplies, many with the label of another store on the container(psst, Clarence Country Store) indicating the source of the sugars or sprinkles. There was an Amish goods area, handmade jewelry stalls, knitted mittens, crocheted things, gloves, fashion scarves, spices, odd-sized sneakers, candies, some Northface jackets for fifty bucks(?), homemade baked goods, socks, metal signs, garden art, you get the idea. The place is huge! But it is NO Vidlers. Absolutely none of the charm nor merchandise. We indeed found a couple of items to bring home, such as hard candy. Dang, definitely wish we hadn’t brought home the sourdough bread, wouldn’t even feed it to the birds. But the cookie cutter and sanding sugar seem fine. The aisles, while narrow, were uncluttered, and each vendor seemed to follow a semblance of order. I really liked the concept, but couldn’t help but feel like I was carousing a giant neighborhood garage sale. I’d say the merchandise was vastly used, probably from a yard sale. But something may hit the spot for you. The worst part of this experience was the check out and customer service. All attitude, not a friendly word, an encouraging«hope to see you again soon» tidbit. Just plain wish-I-wasn’t-here, cashier remorse rude. The restaurant seemed busy this Sunday afternoon, perhaps we will try it sometime, sans a stop at the Bazaar, our family thumbs down.

After a nice Sunday motorcycle ride to Olcott Beach, my parents and I stopped here for dinner on the way back home. It was pretty busy but we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. I opted for the pot roast dinner — absolutely delicious and tender roasted beef served with baby red potatoes, carrots, celery and onions. It was amazing. Better than my mom’s pot roast(sorry, Mama.). Both my parents enjoyed their dinners too — my dad had the baked ham dinner and my mom ordered a BLT that was huge and on homemade, freshly baked Italian bread. Then to cap off my wonderful meal, I enjoyed a giant piece of homemade cherry pie with vanilla ice cream. Pretty much any restaurant can win me over with cherry pie, but this particular pie was awesome. I wish we had more time to look around the little shops in the back of the restaurant, but it was getting cold and dark and we had a little bit of a ride ahead of us. I hope to be back soon for more delicious food and some shopping!

We were in the area so decided to pop in for breakfast. Definately a unique experience. Very warm, country style inviting atmosphere, Gordies also has a very nice covered patio with lighting and ceiling fans for outside dining. I am not a big fan of eating outside, but I would have made an exception for this garden like, shaded setting. Breakfast portions were huge and a good value. I could only eat about 1/3.Speaking of the food itself, it was hit or miss. Bacon, eggs, sausage and home fries were great. The coffee was good and hot. My pancakes were huge but, eh just ok. My partner got the steak and eggs and again the steak was only so so. The Bazaar portion of the restaurant was fun to go through. A mini flea market/retroish candy store and unique local? food shoppe all within the restaurant. We would recommend it if you are in the area, worth trying at least once. A nice family type atmosphere.
