Connor Bottling Works has made this soda for over 150 years on the family homestead. Squamscott soda is known throughout the region and is available in many smaller stores, cafes, and shops throughout Rockingham county, as well as local Shaw’s and Hannafords stores. As a soda aficionado, I enjoy their Cola, Root Beer, Cherry flavor and the super old school Ginger Beer that puts your Canada Dry to shame with its strong taste. It’s a great local business.

We took two different groups of campers to Squamscot this summer for a tour and tasting. Both groups came home thoroughly enjoying the experience. The first group had bought two six packs to sample back at camp — which led to four cases being purchased between staff members on the second trip. The staff was very welcoming and more than happy to handle our over-excited crowd. The different choices of flavors were fantastic and they definitely have something for everyone. There are the traditional flavors and some more unique ones as well. I have no doubt that Squamscot will be back on the list next year as a choice for field trips!

My wife and I recently had our wedding of around 150 people in our yard in durham. We tried to source everything we could locally, and for ice, we were recommended Squamscott. However, the manager/owner that we dealt with, Dan, was just horrible to deal with at every single stage of the process. He was rude at best, and certainly did not seem to consider our business important. We ordered 1200 pounds of cubed ice for chilling drinks and coolers, as well as an Ice Luge for drinking shots of liquor. However, the Ice Luge that we picked up was improperly made and was FULL of bubbles and fissures. Every shot we poured into the Ice Luge ran right through the bubbles and fissures and onto the table. This happened over and over again, even after attempting to chisel a new luge into other parts of the ice block. We probably poured an entire bottle of liquor on the table trying to make this thing work. A few days after the wedding my wife called Squamscott to let them know that they’d provided us with a faulty product and to ask for a refund on the Ice Luge. The owner/manager Dan called her a LIAR and told her that there was no way that she could prove anything that she said because the product was now a puddle of water. Thats right, the owner of this business called a newly married bride a liar about the failure of a product that was witnessed by nearly 200 people. We bought over a thousand pounds of ice from these people and they proceeded to called my wife a liar and refused to issue a refund on a $ 75 product that THEY messed up. We tried to do the right thing by supporting a local business, but they treated us like garbage. I will never buy any product from Squamscott again, and I highly recommend anyone considering doing so to give it a second thought.
