Sid’s Hair Salon

This review is long overdue. I have been going to Sid’s for approximately 20 years. They were recommended to me by someone I worked with at the time who had a beautiful cut and color. Over the years, I’ve worked with great stylists there who have all become my friends. Sid, his wife Leeann (when she stops in) and their daughter Amber (who is my stylist now) are like family. They always fit me in and do an amazing job. This past Friday, I went in for a cut and color from Amber and some facial waxing by Sid and walked out feeling beautiful. (That’s all them.:)) Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention their great receptionist, Felicia. She is always warm and welcoming and I look forward to talking to her when I go in. You should go to Sid’s, like I did and find a hair/​makeup and beauty home.

Bottom Line: it’s the total package and worth the $ 50 price to look perfect and not stress about it coming out right.
When traveling from out of town to the area I became concerned when I realized that I wouldn’t be able to style my hair by myself for one of my dearest friends’ wedding. In a panic I started to call different salons in the area to see who could help me get my hair into a classy Joan from Madmen/​Audrey Hepburn style up– do. Sid’s called me back right away and was able to fit me into the schedule at a time I preferred. Not to mention that I contacted them less than 48 hours before the event!
I was delighted to find the salon decorated in a very home– y retro fashion. The kind of place John Waters would hang with his lady friends while they got styled before a night out, chatting about the latest local courtroom drama. I felt very comfortable.
Stephanie was fantastic! She has great stories to tell while you are in her chair and is super sweet and down to earth. Plus she clearly loves what she does, including up– do’s.
We talked about what I wanted to look like, I showed her some pictures both of my dress and Joan, and she nailed it! I got non– stop compliments all night.

Amber is the best! She knows her hair coloring and is an excellent stylist! Sid does my eyebrows and upper lip, he is wonderful! Very cute location!

I have been going to Sid’s for over a year now and always left with a great cut and color. Amber is my stylist and she always does a great job. The first time I went in I had long hair, I brought her several pictures of short hair I liked and she did a fantastic job getting the look I wanted. Sid’s is now located in a quaint little house that has been restored into the salon. Everyone is warm and welcoming, you feel at home very quickly.

I like this place. Cute building. It looks like an old western shopping plaza. I have been going to this place for a good year now and I am always mostly satisfied when I leave. I get my hair done by Debbie. She’s never perfect on cutting my bangs — that’s the one thing I don’t like but I keep going back so its not THAT bad. She cuts and dyes my hair for about $ 100 + tip. There is fresh coffee in the front no matter what time you get there. The receptionist is a little hard to warm up to but she’s a nice lady and I like her now. There’s a nice antique shop right next door if you get there early and want to find any vintage clothing, jewelry, china etc etc…
