I will only get my oil changed at the Dip Stick! Not only are they a GREAT value, in addition the service is top notch. Always respectful of my time and always going the extra mile. Topping of all my other fluids and making sure my tires are inflated for maximum efficiency. Rich is the best!

Secret little spot. Been coming here exclusively since I found the place over 10 years ago! Won’t go anywhere else! And why would I? Fast, thorough, knowledgable, honest, and friendly, you normally don’t find these five things in one place, but this isn’t just any place! Small town feel there is pretty special, I must say! Highly recommended! Can’t say enough!

Despite the other Unilocal reviews, I only experienced poor to mediocre service. His attitude was gruff and acted like I was bothering him. I paid a fair to good price for an oil change and since I just bought the car used I asked him to «check it over» at least fluids and whatnot. I basically gave him mechanics gold of «find stuff wrong with it so you can sell me other services».
Well, I know he didn’t check the automatic transmission fluid because while detailing the interior of the car today I found the dip stick for the transmission (which is weird, but not his doing). I looked in the engine bay and sure enough, the transmission was open to the elements. Luckily I caught it before my transmission seized!
While changing the transmission fluid myself, I also saw a bunch of engine oil all over the bottom of the engine, presumably from the recent oil change, so maybe he spilled and didn’t wipe off, or worse, maybe the oil filter isn’t seated well and it’s leaking?
I won’t be returning, which is a bummer, I wanted to like this place.

Super quick oil change! Literally 5 minutes! Nice guy who does it! Super friendly and honest. $ 32 for a four quart oil change I believe $ 35 for 5 quarts.

Dipstick is the greatest place to get an oil change in SCV; quick service and I trust them when they mention any additional service they spot. They’re good people; easy going, kind, kept their small town mentality despite the city growing exponentially around them.

The last time I went to another Oil Change place was in the early 1990’s. At that time the jokes broke the threads of my oil plug. Never again. I have been coming here since then for my car and my wife’s car. Rich or Dave will be quick and check out your car and let you know if they see any problems. We have since moved but it is worth the drive to Newhall to have it done right and at a great price. Four Stars!!!

This guy Rick is AMAZING! I only paid $ 32 for a complete oil change, including filters, etc. I’ve never paid that low, usually I get charged a minimum of $ 40!
In ADDITION to a SUPER QUICK oil change, he checked all of my fluids, filled up everything, and let me know that I need to change my trany fluid soon! He gave me super cheap quote!
I’ve had an oil leak for about a year, and I was told by a bunch of different people, a bunch of different reason, and was quoted ridiculous prices. It took him one minute to tell me exactly what it was! He told me he can get me the part for $ 6 dollars next time I come in! $ 6 and $ 120 is a HUGE difference!
Rick has more than 14 yrs of experience and KNOWS WHAT HE’S DOING!

The location is a little tricky. It’s on the side of a used car dealership lot on Roailroad/​Newhall Ave across from the Starbucks!
