If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. THEWALMARTOFRESTAURANTS. Awful service. It took forever to get seated, while we were watching the workers sit at a table in the back. Hello?! Then once we were sat we didn’t have silverware or have a waitress even say hello for another 10 minutes. We were just getting apps and ice cream and the woman never asked to take our order for ice cream. After being rude the whole time, she gave us our check before we even got our dessert. Her name was Stacie. On top of everything, the place is way to open and you can hear and see what everything people are saying and doing. It also doesn’t help that there is a man walking in and out of the kitchen, out of uniform, with a cigarette in his ear. If I wanted service like this, I would have gone to a trailer park!

We used to have a Friendly in West Hartford Center and went often even though it wasn’t customer friendly. We made the trip out to Newington to give it a try at 11:20 am 12÷27÷15 on a Sunday and were told that breakfast ended at 11. The restaurant had 3 tables taken in it. No one was there. I ask if they could just make a couple of eggs and was told the kitchen just won’t do it. We went across the street to Olympia dinner and had a great breakfast. For a company that is trying to rebrand it self they lost the potential for a customer to comeback. You guys are already behind the times with your comeback even McDonalds serves all day breakfast. It’s not like your grills were off. This store will be a relic like the rest of them soon unless they realize they are there for the customer not the other way around. The manager and two employees were sitting at one of the three taken tables. The manager watched me sit down and leave with in 5 minutes and didn’t bother to get up to see what the problem was

Upon enter in for a late lunch I stood waiting for the hostess and noticed it was busier near the front of the resturant so I asked if we could have a specific booth further back. The hostess sthrew a small hossy fit with her eyes but said yes. and then walked us back stomping her feet behind us the whole way. I wanted to just leave but my mother insisted we stay because we hadnt met our waitress yet. We soon did, and she was nice. I assumed someone would be along soon to clean the table off because it was filthy, and had I known, would have picked a different booth. Anyway, the waitress brought our beverages, not what was ordered, OK, but still no clean table. After about 15 minutes I went to find a spray bottle and a rag to clean the table myself. Then when the food came the portions were that of a size for a small teenager, and my burger meat patty looked nothing like the picture. It was thinner than a mcdonalds patty, I mwan come on this is a $ 10 burger? Not happy at all, boy have they changed since last time I went. Maybe I will stick to Dennys

We got here, they told us we couldn’t sit in the available booth because the servers in that section were«on break»…then our appetizer came out wrong twice, and the food runner gave us a dirty look… the customer service here needs improvement. The servers as well as the manager has been sitting eating their food next to us while our server was running around. Very unprofessional. Our food was cold and there was no silverware on the table. I am dissatisfied with everything this restaurant has to offer. They didn’t comp the appetizer or offered us anything to apologize for the crummy service. I am upset with my whole experience here. Never coming back again!

Ehhh, food is mediocre now… not sure if it was an off night, but presentation was so off from the meal to the sundaes. Fries were not fresh, looked stale and had just been reheated. One of the meals came with about 5 fries and cold. Dishes just looked pitiful. As for the sundaes, I’m going to assume they lost all their ice cream scoopers because it looked like they used spoons and left many gaps of air between spoonfuls — can’t say I’ve ever had this kind of experience at Friendlys. My food generally comes out looking like the food on their menus and this just looked like amateur hour. Place looks newly renovated, but what’s the point if the food is subpar? Can’t say I’d bother coming to this particular location again.

Very slow service. Ordered a burger with a side of BBQ sauce and didn’t get the BBQ sauce. Normally not a big deal, so I ask the woman who brought the food(not my waitress) for a side of BBQ. She never gets it. So she was either not very smart and forgot or just completely ignored my request. I’m not sure which one is worse. Also they hardly give you any fries. It was like ordering a happy meal sized fries from McDonalds.

We arrived at 7pm on a Tuesday and the restaurant was about half full. We waited 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence. Waitresses looked our way but couldn’t even say«I’ll be with you in a minute». There were plenty of tables and a few booths yet an elderly couple was kept waiting for a booth when courtesy would have allowed them to be seated even if a waitress(God forbid) had to walk 10 feet out of her section. We finally were seated and it took about 10 minutes to receive drinks, another 10 for appetizer salad and 20 more minutes for the rest of our small meal. Our drinks were never refilled, we waited 20 minutes for two simple sundaes and were overcharged on our bill to boot. The woman I assume who was the manager was frazzled yet no one was helping her. A lot of the kitchen staff standing around staring at us waiting to pay. In my days in a restaurant, when things were busy, we all had to help regardless of position. Start scooping ice cream, guys! Substandard even for Friendly’s. Get some training on efficiency and courtesy.

This is for my free birthday ice cream redemption. I guess Friendly’s is too cheap for waiters and waitresses. Corporate does When I went in on a weekday night, the dining room was packed and only one waitress working and one dude in the kitchen cooking. She told me I should get my ice cream at the counter instead. The lazy, stoned girl ice cream girl gave me a rinky dink scoop. She made no eye contact and did not say thank you. She actually reminded me of a shoplifter at the place I work at. Way to go for customer service training, Friendly’s. Why go to this hole when there’s Mortensen’s Ice Cream on the Berlin Turnpike and a plethora of better chain/non-chain restaurants serving American food. No wonder so many Friendly’s restaurants have closed…

I am changing my rating and adding one star because the manager that works during the day just called me after hearing from corporate and was so very nice to me on the phone and made me feel a lot better about the situation… But it’s still a low rating because I got very sick from this restaurant! I am STILL not 100% :( But to have such understanding and to feel like the manager is actually going to do something to fix this situation is worth an updated review with an additional star added!

Friendly’s — what has happened to you? Went for breakfast today and asked for a table. we were told the tables«weren’t open» when there was a section of several tables clearly open. We sat at a half both, half table and ordered. Waitress came back and said they were out of Canadian bacon for the omelettes. Ok, so we ordered regular bacon. The onelettes came back and they were so sad. So were the scrambled eggs — they were brown curdles The omlettes were cold. We asked the very nice waitress to re-heat. Then the supervisor came over and asked us what was wrong. She said” «The microwave doesn’t heat much hotter than that. It may be as good as you’re going to get.» WHATKINDOFTHINGISTHATTOSAY? And, really? You have to make your eggs in a microwave? She asked us if we wanted something different on the menu. You mean something different that will also suck? Fifteen minutes later the omlettes came back SCALDINGHOT. So guess that microwave could warm up hotter. They took 50 percent off our check and it was still barely worth it. If I am going to pay $ 45 for four people for breakfast, you better have edible food. Never, ever again,

Came here twice for breakfast once w my boyfriend once on my own — both times the food was bland. The time I went by myself this week was middle of the week barely any other customers waitress was friendly but very unattentive and she put my order in wrong. Wouldn’t recommend this location. I love Friendlys but will stick to the middletown/cromwell location for future.

We went on a Monday around 1100 and it was nearly empty. The food was a little bland but good otherwise. Our waitress was friendly and helpful with the menu items. The biggest complaint is the foul odor emanating from what I believe is the rug. It desperately needs replacing or a deep cleaning!

Stopped here past Saturday afternoon. The staff was friendly and mentioned the new build your own burger and name it. Started at $ 7.49 extra topping from .39 each to .99 each burger came to $ 10.39. Little steep had a side salad. Burger was good. Downside did not like the supervisor or manager in change that recommended a staff member front of customers! Did not like her tone or her demeanor she handles issues. I have work customer service and it’s not easy but sorry not needed and I will report abuse and I had to get out of there asp !

This experience was not good at all. The service was okay and the food was terrible. The omelet had no taste at all, the pancakes tasted like boxed cakes and they were Luke warm, the sliders were all bun no meat, the wheat toast was extremely hard and dry and tasted like it had been on freezer for weeks. I told the manager about the food and all she did was make excuses about everything. I Will never return even if it’s free!!!
