Love their pizza, had been a customer for years up until this experience. The review is solely based on their recent(1÷16÷16) treatment towards me. I mistakenly placed an order for the wrong pizza by name, and when the pizza was being boxed I had noticed that it wasn’t the actual pie I had wanted, so I immediately told the co-owner. I had requested them to make the correct pizza, and offered to pay for both, the erroneous pizza and the correct pizza. However, at that time, the owner Stretch, had come across the pizza counter to yell at me and completely patronize me in front of other customers, which was at a complete shock. There was no apology for the unprofessional behavior, and was later again patronized by the co-owner to remember what pizza to order the next time I come in. There will be NO next time, It was completely degrading… I had witnessed the two owners get into arguments between themselves when picking up pizzas on other previous occasions, never thought that they would treat customers in this fashion. Atrocious customer service, truly shameful and disappointing.

I like the pizza here. Small family owned establishment, pretty decent prices as well. I like the flavor of their sauce, a little on the sweeter side but in a good way. The cheese was okay — I had a couple slices. The slices/lunch portion is very generous. It reminded me of a nicer upgraded version of a Costco or Sam’s slice! Similar, but definitely better! Probably one of the better pizza places in Newington. That’s not saying much, but I would probably try it again if I’m in the area and crave a decent slice.

Don’t order the wings… Gummy and fatty. I think they were microwaved… But the pizza is good(sorta expensive) I ordered a large onion and Hamburg. Place was busy with no ac… With other great pizza places minutes away I may not try them again…

We love their traditional pizza – just like my grandmother used to make on Christmas eve. We always split a Ceasar salad – excellent, along with the garlic bread. They serve Foxon Park soda, the best. Dining room is very small and is cold in the winter and warm in the summer. But that does not stop us from calling it one of our favorite pizza joints. I would call before heading here, as we went there this past Tuesday and they were closed. Fantastic pizza and the small town atmosphere make this little gem special for my wife and me.

I told a friend that we had been looking for a good buffalo chicken pizza and she recommended Stretch’s. After reviewing the menu we called an audible and decided to try the Stretch’s Special pizza and eggplant rolls. We typically don’t go for pizza with a ton of toppings, but the special was great. We will definitely be going back in the future. The difficult part will be deciding if we will go with the special again, this time adding the optional hot peppers, or if we’ll finally hit that buffalo chicken craving.

My first visit to Stretch’s, walking in, it smelled delicious. They served me the pizza and it was actually too big for the box. It wouldn’t stay shut. And weighed a ton. I ordered the stretches special, which has just about every topping on there you can think of. There was almost too much on it, because it started to fall apart every time I would pick up a slice. But it was delicious :-) I will definitely be back.

Are you kidding me.. This pizza kind of came out of no where. The ingredients are fresh and it reminded me of a home made pizza, but the crust was so much better. I have been eating pizzas from lenas. .pepes. joeys.etc. This place is a pleasent surprise. The crust is soft, buttery and had that crunch that your looking for. I had the sausage and broccoli Rabe white pizza, it was a large and between two people it usually last about four days. I bought the pizza on Friday and hated to see it was finished by Sunday. I hope you guys enjoy

One of the best in Hartford country! My favorite is their special with hot peppers! Takes awhile for it to cook but well worth the wait and money. Or the traditional if your on a diet! Another reason why I love it is that it’s consistent. The same person, Steve the owner, makes the pies so the product stays the same great all the time. One knock on the place is that you can’t eat in cause it’s just to hot in there because of size of the restaurant or I would have given it 5 stars for sure.

Great pizza and meatball for inner conn. I was there yesterday. I just liked the way the guy who made pizza was a maniac and was all about making good pizza. Pizza– huge large pie. I think 12 slices not sure. But for a inner conn pizza I found it crispy thin and well made. Meatball– 3.50 $ it was big but not as big as I thought it would be. BUTTT it was awesome. I really enjoyed it. I could of ate 2. Sauce– the biggest ingredient for me. I always get extra sauce. I liked how I found nice big slices of garlic. Who doesn’t love garlic. The only downfall with the sauce was that it was very sweet. Dull it down a bit and you have a hell of a sauce. Overall next time I’m here you’ll see me again for sure. Good pizza and meatballs. GOHERE! if your in town of course. I would give 4 stars but being from jersey /New York that’s tough for me to do.

Best pizZa around! Thin crust brick oven! The sauce has the perfect amount of sweetness, always good. I suggest trying the hot peppers as a topping but beware they are hot!!! The fresh tomato on mozzarella on white pizza is to die for! They’re ingredients are fresh everyday and come from the local butcher and farms. Love the owners too, they are such characters! Anytime we want pizza there is no other place to go! Only nuisance is they have funky hours. They are closed on Sunday’s and Monday’s and open until 9pm every other day. On Fridays they are open until 10.

Had a very odd experience here when my husband and I were able to grab a quick lunch together on a week day afternoon. A man and a woman were working and were yelling at each other, arguing loudly. The woman was actually crying more than once. They seemed exponentially stressed out. I just found it so strange that they thought this was acceptable behavior in front of customers. We ate there and listened to it the entire time from where we sat in the back room(we were the only ones eating there but heard people coming in and out getting orders to go). Pizza was tasty but we were just freaked out by the unprofessional behavior. Prob won’t be back — they seemed unhinged.

One of my favorite pizza places in Newington! The pizza is always amazing, the wings are baked not fried, and it’s BYOB if you want to eat in the small dining room and bring your own beer. I often get the fresh tomato pizza and add pine nuts and spinach; it’s like a slice of heaven! I’ve never been disappointed by a pizza here and prefer it to Pepe’s. And, Stretch’s delivers!

Really good pizza at a decent price too. Sauce is pretty sweet but the cheese balances it out. Absolutely love the crust too. There are tons of great pizza places in CT and this is definitely another. Glad I found a great place nearby. Give it a try!

I think its more of a 3.5−3.75 for me since i’ve only given it one chance. I like the pizza. I don’t think its better than say Pepes or Bar(New Haven) but it does have the NYC style and the Mom & Pop business always gets me to give a better review. I stopped in and got 3 slices(pepperoni, 2x cheese), they were just opening up so they didn’t have a specialty pizza made yet. I liked how everything was being made from scratch and the price was fair($ 7 for 3 slices). I’ll definitely give this place another shot since i’m local and its nice to stop in for my lunch break.

Solid NYC-style pizza place. I’ve had a few of their pies and each one was great, the only one I wasn’t crazy about was the fresh tomato, which is a white pizza that was a little too heavy on the fresh garlic. But all of their red pizzas are terrific.

Very good! The large was VERY large! We got a large pizza, with no cheese, with onions, peppers, mushrooms & olives(the olives were whole!). all the toppings were amazing, the crust was thin and chewy, the sauce was sweet and delicious. The large garden salad was basically a bowl of iceberg lettuce. I wouldn’t bother ordering it again. The balsamic dressing was good. Also, it came with some olive oil, herbed focaccia bread for no reason, and it was really good, esp dipped in the balsamic. The total came to $ 31.25. Delivery took 1 ½ hours on a Friday. Ridiculous, but so good, next time I will know to order as I leave work. The girl who took my order was nice and helpful, and the delivery guy was nice. One of my favorites is the traditional pizza(no mozzarella, just parmesan, basil and sauce), with broccoli… outstanding! And the calzones should be renamed Heaven Pillows… so large and delightful! The bread is chewy, the mozzarella is good, but the ricotta… oh lord… so light, yet so filling! They deliver to Newington and Wethersfield SOMETIMES(if they get busy they stop deliveries), and their website is back up(not complete).

Very small(i.e. two full tables and some additional seating) pizza place in Newington; I came away very impressed. Highlights about this pizza are the crust and sauce – they were both very high quality and I think worthy of comparison to Wooster street establishments such as a Pepe’s and Sally’s. We also got good service and the prices were really reasonable, which was very much NOT the norm at the famous places in New Haven, so that was a surprise. Another few perks of Stretch’s is that is right next to STarbucks so you can get your free wifi on and also across the street from Carvel if you need an ice cream fix(I ate a large reese’s cup sundae after pizza hehe). Very much recommended and I will be back here.
