We were visiting family this weekend and had an accident with a pair of drill bit metal frames. Found this place and went in to get the frames repaired. The staff was really helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly and got us fixed up, no charge. I enjoyed looking at the wide variety of frame styles, while we waited, as well. Thanks so much!

Visual Perceptions in Newington is a poorly run operation. We went here for service a few months ago. The appointment started fine; the office was nice and clean and the optometrist was friendly. Things went south when it was time to check out. They stuck is worth a person who could not do math nor clearly explain what the charges were covering. So, after we were done with the visit, it was another 25 minutes to pay and leave. It’s very odd that Visual Perceptions world place this person in the position they’re in. This was extremely frustrating. Then, to make matters worse, I had to deal with the outsourced billing office. When you receive a bill, it includes a phone number for«billing office.» The furst time I needed to contact them, I spent about five days trying to get someone on the phone. Once I did, they were very apologetic and generally nice, but couldn’t clearly answer my billing questions since they don’t actually work at Visual Perceptions. A few days ago, I received what better be my last invoice from this place. This is piece of paper number five orso, even though all charges have been paid on time so far. For some reason, a single piece of paper which itemizes apk charts for each person just isn’t possible. Though I really liked the office itself, one particular employee(which reflects on the management) and a terrible billing/payment process prevent me from recommending Visual Perceptions in Newington.

This office is wheelchair accessible. Not only that, the entire staff is well educated and has the biggest heart in Ct. Buy your milk and toilet tissue @ Walmart but for eye care go here. I know everyone wants to save a buck by going to a BigBox store, but I want to save your eyes. Please trust me, if you go to VP once you will be impressed.

If I could give them a negative review, I would. Because I saw their«opthamologist» for my regular eye exam(the person who does their eye exams), and because I checked off I have dry eyes and cataracts(snowflake cataracts I’ve had my entire life), they deemed my ½ hour superficial eye exam a «medical» exam and billed my medical insurance carrier instead of my VSP(vision program) carrier. They did not perform any special tests, ask me back for a followup or give me anything(I didn’t need it). It took them six months to do this(it’s July, my exam was in January). Then, they hit me with a $ 100 exam fee. So, if you have VSP vision insurance and have anything other than perfect sight, be prepared for a bill because from what they told me their contract with VSP will not pay for it. I have never had a problem like this before at any eye care professional at all. On the positive side, they have a nice collection of frames, but very expensive.

My first visit to Visual Perceptions and it won’t be my last. After going to places like lens crafters for years I am definitely switching to VP. They had everything I needed all in on place. Easy parking, friendly staff, clean and efficient office set up, experienced Doctors, state of the art equipment and ample choices for frames, lenses and contacts. I say try it once and you will never go anywhere else.
