Alyssa has been my stylist for years. She is probably the best person to have ever cut my hair, and now that she is at 18 8, all good things have aligned. You get a beer while you get your hair cut and can also get a scalp treatment. Need I say more?

Taryn has been my go-​to stylist here. Very easy to talk to, never in a rush to get me out of the chair and always gives me a great clean haircut.
Aside from that, it’s always a relaxing time spent as you get to have a few beers and chill out in a great environment with friendly people.

Love this salon. Juliane (Jules) always does a fabulous job. Never rushed, always take the time to make sure my cut is perfect. Plus, she is a cool girl. I talk to her instead of a shrink!

ALI SHARAN #1 Professional – Moving here from Chicago it took me a long time to find what I was looking for. I will continue to be his client and refer him to as many friends and family I can. He does an ULTRA job and is an artist!!!

I came to this location for a cut and color for my hair on Sunday. I wanted a shorter cut for the warmer weather and to color my gray hair. The young lady and gentleman at the front were able to accommodate my appointment at short notice.
I was assisted by Taryn who did my hair and was very knowledgable and made sure to ask me how I wanted to color and cut my hair. Through the whole session she was patient and made sure I understood what she was doing. I explained that I was from out of town and she let me know how to maintain my hair for the future.
The pricing is expensive but I do not know how to maintain my hair and was very appreciative of her kind patience and expertise. It was my first time having a hair cutting experience like that. I hope to return if I am ever in the area again.

If you’re looking for a perfect cut, you need to book an appointment with Ali at ¹⁸⁄₈ @ The Bluffs right now! I have been a member of this salon since moving to Newport Beach almost 2 years ago and have never been let down. Ali has been my go to guy for nearly a year now and has impressed me and pretty much everyone I refer more and more each time (which says a lot, given my multiple visits for cuts and clean ups every month). 5 stars is an understatement.
Word of advice: get the executive membership. It might sound pricey at first, but considering the amount of full cuts (including beer and hot towel treatment), clean ups and discounts on products and services it comes with, it’s actually an amazing deal.

Best Mens salon in Newport. My husband looks 10 years younger. No joke. He looks more modern too. It’s great that men finally have a swanky place to go and get pampered. They deserve it!

I’ve always gone to a sport clips or fantastic sams in the past. But this place really sets the bar high! Everyone is so welcoming and professional here. My stylist was Taryn and she not only gave me a great fade, but an overall awesome experience. She consulted in depth on my haircut and really took the time to listen! I highly recommend this fine men’s salon.

Went in for a cut with Sarah about a week and a half ago. Only now got the time to write this review. She was nice enough, and to be fair, I told her at the end of the cut that I liked it. I did ask her to take more off the back because it looked choppy and my hair grows very fast back there but she told me I shouldn’t cut it further. I ended up being right… it needed to be cut more on the back. Additionally, once i got a shower, I realized what I liked was the way she blow dried and gelled it. I had initially showed her a picture of what I wanted. After I realized what the cut actually looked like (when not gelled or blow dried) It became obvious she cut off waaaay too much off the top and sides, which was ironic given that too little was taken off the back. It’s not that it looks especially bad… I’m just not blown away by the quality of the cut for $ 50. I’m sure others have had good experiences, and perhaps even with Sarah. This was not my experience.

Great experience overall. Alyssa was super professionall, provided an amazing haircut, and was a pleasure to talk to. Will definitely be coming back.

I have to say that the lady who worked in my hair wasn’t professional. After one day from getting my hair cut, I realized that sides are longer than other.
The lady was so nice, but how is this going to be helpful.
I recommend that you go to a cheaper place bcz the performance will be similar.
I have to do hair cut again to fix what can be fixed.

Sarah has been doing my hair for some time now. Sometimes I have a style in mind, sometimes I have no idea what I want but every time I walk away feeling sharp and satisfied! She has a beautiful and welcoming smile, strong product knowledge and a skill set that I seek out when ever I’m in need of a clean up, fresh cut or just tips on style and what’s best to use. She’s awesome!
No wonder you can find her at such a place as ¹⁸⁄₈. It seems like they seek out the best to treat you the best! Aside from complimentary sodas, water or alcoholic beverages they create an unparalleled comfort level that makes getting your hair cut so much more enjoyable.
You gotta stop by and when you do always ask for Sarah. You won’t regret it!

Paid $ 65 for a haircut. Normally it’s already overpriced at $ 45. Reason for the up charge was that I had my haircut by a ‘master stylist’, in this case a 23 year old misery who complained about her personal issues the entire time. I should mention that I was not told about the different tiers of stylists and that my haircut would be obnoxiously overpriced. This place is a joke, nobody in there has any sense of pride in delivering a high level of professional experience that should come with the price tag.
So may better options, steer clear of this one.

Came here with a friend to get a haircut after the last 3 places messed up, and this is an amazing place, all of the employees are very friendly, the environment is very welcoming and relaxed. Frankie did an awesome job, she was very nice, and knew exactly what I was looking for, she fixed the mistakes the other places made, and gave me a fresh look, :) most definitely will be coming here from now on!

If you’re looking for a place that takes pride in what they do day in, day out I highly recommend going to ¹⁸⁄₈ at The Bluffs. I’ve been a client of Ali’s, to whom this review is for, for about 5 months, and let me just say, it gets better each time. It’s scary knowing Ali will outdo himself each time I go in for a cut — I tell him all the time, too.
Getting admitted into UCI was not the hard part. It was finding a barber who could cut good hair that was most challenging, especially having not lived in the area until recently. I say barber because that is what he is among other things; he excels in barber work, however: fades, tapers, etc., but could do anything from undercuts to pompadours to that reminiscent classic, sharp look that pervades the media in much of today. Moreover, he is so meticulous in what he does that he isn’t satisfied until the last bit of hair product is applied to your hair. And even then, he’d probably say he could’ve done more. He’s a perfectionist, but when cutting hair, I guess that could only be a good thing. But most importantly, he loves what does. He smiles, he laughs, and I feel as though I can talk to him about anything, especially sports. There’s hardly ever a minute of silence when you’re in his chair getting groomed. He’ll make sure you feel right at home.
Now, I’m a third year at UCI and even though graduation looms in the next year, I will make it my life’s mission to seek Ali for a fresh, rejuvenating cut. Thanks man, I appreciate it. You have a special gift.

First class haircut, nice atmosphere, friendly team. What more can I say? Well, I can also say that Yasmin, who does the skin care, really knows her stuff — she helped me with a dry scalp issue that an expensive medical dermatologist was unable to fix. It might seem silly to say this, but the folks at 18 – 8 Newport Beach genuinely care about making sure their customers leave the shop looking good, and they work really hard at it.

Ali– great job on my cutting the hair on my sons’ coconut today. Kids cuts from the barber shop and «not so super cuts» look like bowl cuts with straight bangs. Ali you kept the buzzer in the drawer and he looks handsome and more like he is ready to go out versus a square headed third grader. You get what you pay for! Thanks again!
