My mother is a medicare patient of Dr. Delgado’s, not a concierge patient. We still get timely appointments and the Dr. is caring and interested. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the office staff. They recently sent a prescription to the wrong pharmacy, even though I stated that we had changed pharmacies and given them the name of the new pharmacy. They sometimes return a call to the wrong number, even when I leave my number. I have learned to place a reminder call for prescription renewals — sometimes they are prompt and sometimes they’re not. The office staff at the old location seemed more experienced and efficient.

Good Doctors are hard to find, Dr. Delgado is one of the best in Newport. I usually get in in a few days, He is well educated in many field and very easy to speak with. I have never left his office without knowing what’s going on. His staff is also excellent. I am a PPO member but unlike the other guy, I did not abandon my Doctor and checked in at least once a year. But the truth, I would join the Concierge program if I needed too, he is that good.

Money grab. A few years ago I received notice that Dr. Delgado was implementing a fee based concierge service which had an additional cost even though I am on a PPO health plan. It stated I could remain as a patient without the service but implied concierge members would get priority. I called recently to schedule a physical and was informed that Dr. Delgado was only taking new patients into his concierge service. I informed them I was a patient and they told me it was too long since my last visit. I am now inconvenienced with having to find a new doctor and then having my records moved, all for a money grab that has nothing to do with medicine.
