I had the worst indigestion and stomach upset from the poblano avocado burrito! Has anybody else gotten sick at this location recently? I normally get a tostada salad which is delicious. I’m used to spicy or exotic food and that burrito was neither of those!

I come to this location quite frequently since it is very close to my employment. The major issue that I have with this location is that it takes way too long to place your order and even longer to receive it… the drive-through line is always out of control. It’s been like this for the past year, can somebody in corporate do something about it?

This is the best Pollo Loco location in Orange County. It’s always busy at lunch time. It’s very clean and service is great. I eat here at least twice a week. The worst Pollo loco is the one on Alton in Irvine, because it’s not clean, it’s too small, and parking is very difficult at lunch hour.

I went thru drive thru on 8−24−15 at lunch. The parking lot is so poorly engineered that traffic spills out into the slow lane of moving lunch flow. It took 30 minutes to order my lunch and leave the property. After I returned to work I found the rice was going bad and had that slimy texture to it. I ended throwing my lunch in the trash. So much for one of my favorite places to eat. I guess they had a bad day. Not sure I’ll try this location again.

Today was just too much. Last week I ordered my usual order, a 16 piece with rice, beans, mashed potatoes with an extra side of coleslaw. They forgot the coleslaw. Not a big deal and I wasn’t even planning on mentioning it when I went back today. Today, I go in and stand in line to order the usual. The line at this location can be quite long at lunch and was in it for more than 10 minutes. When I made it to the register I go to place my order and was told, «Cash only, our machine is down.» I understand that equipment failures occur and it is out of the hands of the people there. What I don’t understand is how they didn’t tell any of the people standing in line for 10 plus minutes that it was going to be cash only. A simple shout out every minute or two to tell everyone of the inconvenience would have been great.

Why does the drive-thru take 15 minutes? I am writing this review at 1:55 on a Wednesday afternoon as i sit waiting in line to ORDER. This is my second time at this location and have seen the line gridlick itself, and two near-miss accidents with cars waiting to get into the driveway. Getting up to the window, the attendant hands me the wrong drink and takes another 2:25 to hand me the order. All told, this trip To the drive through cost me $ 8 and 17 minutes. WTFEPL?

Tasty but the portions are microscopic! I ordered the two piece leg and thigh. It looked like it came off of a Cornish hen!!! For $ 7, I’d expect at least something off of a 4lb chicken. Sigh. Other Pollo Locos in California I’ve been to have never disappointed. Never coming back.

This location will be the last time I visit, I have had awful customer service here several times the people that work here must hate their jobs. I go thru the drive thru and every time it’s someone awful. No hi, thanks come again and to boot said here and did not give me my bottled water and acted like I was bothering her. I love the new Chicken and Shrimp so I went out of my way to find a el pollo loco, the shrimp were the size of a dime if that big, 4 or 5 small pcs of chicken and about 90% rice. «Special Note– all other Chicken and Shrimp Bowls have been awesome.» This one reallay sucked I got a 5.00 bowl of rice. Awful…I will not revisit this location.

I must say how disappointed I am. My co worker and I have order dinner as take out a couple of times now and today for the second time, the worse food. Or should I say little or no food. Now I know you have standard but you are not meeting them. my co worker ask for ranch dressing and you refuse to even sale it to him. I know times are hard and food cost must be high at your store. But this kind of treatment is shameful, perhaps he should have worn his uniform. In any case don’t worry we will not be back

I’m annoyed with the friendly guy who talks so much he doesn’t get your order right. He talks over you missing what your saying. Then the Order is incorrect. Even when It’s remade, it’s still incorrect. When someone say no cheese, that means no cheese! Oh, you didn’t hear me, that’s because you’re not listening. Listen to your customers. You don’t read minds. So I now received a burrito with no cheese and no sour cream and added extra rice. Yuk!!! This isn’t the first time either. Then the guy wants me to give him a good review on a survey. What!!! Just leave it to the women to take the orders. They listen a bit better!!!

This location has the best service and is always super clean. Staff are amazing and friendly. They always make sure to walk around and ask you how everything is going and offer you condiments etc. which never happens at other el pollo loco places I go to. The chicken is fresh, crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. Highly recommend!

I love el pollo loco but they’re just a little overpriced for a fast food restaurant in general. I like that they have healthier options now and I could have their chicken tacos everyday! Sometimes they prepare their food a little too salty so it might be a ht or miss at time but overall I like the food and will go back for a quick lunch! Get the crispy chicken tacos! So guuud.

It’s a real hit and miss at this location. There are times I get very well prepared food then there are times, when the food is being prepared with no care. They just have few employees who do not seem to care. If you order takeout like I do, check what you receive before leaving the drive through.

I had some business to attend to today(07-01-2014) in Newport Beach, prior to departing I searched Unilocal and looked for local El Pollo Loco and found one. This EPL was located right off of the 73S and easy to find. As I exited the 73S I was able to find this location without a problem. As I pulled into the parking lot(which had quite a few empty spaces) I observed the drive-thru beginning to build and build quickly. This EPL had an employee taking the orders directly from customers as they pulled into the lot kind of like In-N-Out drive-thru style. I walked in and found there to be a small line. As I waited in line the lunch crowd began to funnel in behind me. I approached the cashier and had a very simple order(1 breast, 1 leg, 1 wing, black beans & broccoli). I asked the cashier who took my order to ensure my chicken was so well done it was burnt and I emphasized burnt as in ‘black.’ The cashier told me no problem. I quickly selected a seat /table as they were filling up quickly. After doing so I walked over to the condiment section which was in complete shambles. The veggies, plastic cups, salsa, pico de gallo & guacamole were all over the stainless steel. It looked as if the area had not been cleaned and the condiments had not been replenished is quite some time. I honestly found it to be disgusting!!! I went back to my seat and waited for my name to be called which was spelled wrong on the receipt after I spelled it out letter for letter to the cashier ‘three’ times, pretty easy to remember and spell, ‘Rem.’ I waited and waited for my order to be called and it never happened so I walked up to the counter and found my food sitting there. I asked is this my food? The cashier said I think so. I asked why is the chicken not even close to be cooked to order ‘well done.’ The cashier did not have an answer. The chicken looked like it was barely even cooked. So of course I sent it back and had them remake it. The portions that I was provided the second time around was sub-par at best. I think they found the smallest chicken and served it to me. Instead of serving this chicken they should have charged a quarter to show it off in some tent out back because these portions were small and I mean tiny. I was starving so I finished my food. After doing so I walked into the bathroom to wash my hands and found the bathroom to have an employee’s must wash hands before returning to work sign but no soap in the soap dispenser, go figure. I also noticed how sticky the floor of the bathroom was. It looked like it had recently been mopped; I am guessing they used maple syrup because every step I took I stuck to the floor. I felt like I was visiting the AMC at the Redondo Beach Galleria that is how sticky the floor was, gross, gross, gross. This was my first and last visit to this EPL. I am a huge fan of EPL but I honestly found this one to beyond gross. How in the heck are the employees who are using the bathroom going to wash their hands before they return to work without soap, there is no excuse for this and clearly a health code violation. I only wish I would have checked the bathroom before eating because there would have been zero chance that I would have sat down and ate at this port-o-potty of a restaurant. The crowd was a mix match of local construction workers, medical students and parents with their kids who were screaming and treating the restaurant like it was their backyard. The employees & management here have failed their customers!!! ***This review was just forwarded to EPL Corp office, unacceptable***

Food is always tasty and hot! Service is good but drive thru is always busy! Its like everyone comes here at work day lunch hour. Only down fall is how long it takes from street to exiting the drive thru– 20 minutes!
