Out of business. They said the last time I went there before it closed that they were having«logisitics» problems. Too bad, the food was good.

Everyone seems to be excited that this place stays open late. That’s fine and all but they don’t actually open until 5:30pm. Some coworkers and I thought it would be nice to drop by and check it out for lunch. It was entirely closed but there were signs saying to «ring bell for service», so we did. But alas, it’s just a pointless gesture because the lady told us to come back at 5:30. I don’t see a reason to try again.

Wanted to come here for the first time today… Major thumbs down for not being open for lunch! We rang the bell at the front just to make sure and the lady who answered said«Have you tried it? It’s really good» well… uh no we didn’t because you don’t open until 5:30, Pita pit got our business instead

After reading the mixed reviews and being a fan of Falafel, I decided to go with my bf and try the so-called 3-dollar sandwich. First off, it is not a sandwich. It is a burrito. I’ve had better $ 3 burritos, and better Falafel –so I give this place two stars. This is what you get, a large flour tortilla filled with Falafel, cabbage and a yogurt sauce tightly wrapped and then lightly toasted with a side of spicy sauce. I thought that the burrito had too much cabbage and not enough Falafel. The sauce that comes with the burrito is spicy and very flavorful.

Five stars?! Yup. If this same sandwich was $ 5 or $ 6, I’d go with four stars – but it’s only THREEDOLLARS, and it’s fabulous! We just went last night and as another reviewer mentioned, you don’t have many options. No hummus or tzatzichi, no rice, no salad. But unlike the other reviewer, after eating this sandwich, I’m fine with that. Perfect as is. Since it was a Friday, we got a free beverage for ordering two sandwiches. My only regret was that we ordered two, not three. We thought this would just be an appetizer – and that two for my husband and I to share with our three-year-old would be plenty. But after the fight she put up and yes – the tears – I caved and she had almost a whole one to herself(leaving my husband and I wishing for more!) We’ll certainly be back for more – and I can’t wait!

I was battling between two and three stars. My bf and I were on our way to Pita Pit when I looked over to see a bright yellow building with FALAFILO written on it.(I am a lover of falafel was was ecstatic to have discovered a place in Newport, finally!) Excitement continued as I walked up to the counter and discovered that the sandwiches were only $ 3 and it was open late. I was jumping two steps ahead and thinking about my next night out in Newport.. . I could actually have a «healthy» late night snack(over Lavantina’s across the street) The problems started when I actually began talking to the young man behind the counter. I asked him how his day was and what they had, his response was simply… sandwich. I said… okay well I’ll have a falafel sandwich then. I then asked for hummus and taziki to be added. He shook his head. After decoding a couple mutters, I found out that since they just barely opened, all they have right now is the sandwich, in a couple weeks they should be adding more things to the ‘menu’ The actual falafel was a bit over cooked, definitely not the best, and they serve it on a tortilla that has been grilled.. . but as others mentioned the sauce is actually very flavorful; I wouldn’t have finished it if it wasn’t for that sauce. I may go back when they have hummus and other items, but it may also only be because I don’t want to feel fat and eat greasy pizza. Hopefully for my love of falafel it improves over time!

I love their falafel sandwiches! Honestly this place was my first encounter. This is replacing my late night pizza orders because the person behind the counter told me that delivery starts next week. Woohoo, free me from my midnight orders to Laventinas! Now back to the sandwich, falafel is well seasoned, the pita wrap is nicely toasted, but the sauce they add, now that’s money(yes I stole this from Guy Fieri). They also give you an additional sauce for dipping, equally delicious. The price is right $ 3, the catch, no seating area & cash only

What is falafel? that was my first question to the girl working the counter? her response started with something like.“well, it is a vegetarian. vegan” You don’t hear vegan very often, but somehow it is still one of those words that somehow creates instant dislike. especially when it comes to food. I know tons of ex-vegans.70% of my friends are ex-vegans. at least half were vegans for less than a week, the rest maybe a month. the point… to me, anyway, is that a saying something is vegan means it tastes terrible, but is good for you. I like to eat healthy, but i also like to enjoy food, so i tend to strike a balance between taste and health, vegan food being the absolute low end of the taste scale. I told the girl at the counter that i didn’t think i would like it. She said«why don’t you try it? If you don’t like it, you can get a refund.» while i was still convinced i would hate it, i decided to give it a try. so convinced that i was going to hate the sandwich and would be looking for a refund, i started eating it right out front. it was… great. my first thought was that it tasted so good because i was expecting it to taste so bad. Don’t get me wrong, i would still prefer a bacon cheeseburger if it was magically healthy, but using a rating system that takes health into account… it was incredible. i have had two more of these sandwiches since and am still amazed how good something«vegan» can taste.
