I have been coming here for years and it doesn’t get better! This location and the one in Laguna Beach are both staffed with super friendly people. You can sample before you decide on which flavors you would like. The gelato is made fresh here daily and it isn’t as heavy as regular ice cream(Gelato over ice cream any day!). My favorite flavor is the chocolate hazelnut, it’s the perfect blend of nuts and chocolate. My mom can’t get enough of the pistachio though and it is pretty popular, just not for me haha. I love all of the fruity flavors too, they taste so natural and fresh. Definitely recommend this place over any ordinary ice cream parlor. It’s a must try!

Yes, this is the best gelato in the area. If you get more than 1 flavor, they present it nicely in the cup so you can enjoy each flavor without having to dig through the top layers. Well done.

Wild cherry and almond combo flavor is my favorite. I dream of this gelato combo often. I usually only get the smallest size bc the next largest size is a ripoff — it’s a millimeter wider at the top. Other important info: located in the food court at the atrium shops next to 5 guys and wahoo’s fish tacos; closest parking is in front of whole foods(take the steps or escalator down to the water feature wall/dick’s sporting goods; servers are really nice and patient; no bills over $ 20 or $ 50, and free tastings.

Best gelato I’ve ever tasted, such rich favors and so many choices. Locals love this place and it’s a bit hidden away. Must try if you prefer it to ice cream, I do!

It’s the best gelato I’ve ever had. A little hard to find tucked back in a little alley, but it’s excellent.

Who knew I’ll find my favorite gelato spot! Tried a few but wasn’t too impressed so recently ran into this little parlor and fell in LOVE! My favorite dessert spot I think I’ve pretty much taken whoever visits me. My excuse to get out there and savor. ;o)

I first tried Gelato Paradiso in Laguna Beach and absolutely fell in love. I’m so glad they have one in Fashion Island! Most recently, I had a scoop of their tiramisu gelato… and it’s to die for! Tiramisu’s my favorite. I def recommend trying this place.

Good gelato. I like you can mix and match to fill a cup. Service is good and they allow you to try a sample before buying.

Who would have thought that really friggin’ good gelato would be found in the food court of a mall? Well, let’s be fair here, this is Fashion Island, after all, but I would have never thought I’d find such high quality gelato next to a Five Guys and Wahoo’s in a mall. You can sample any of the flavors they have here. Because the gelato is so nomtastic here, I always forget until I am halfway down my cup to take a picture. They have some great seasonal flavors during the holidays. I do love me some egg nog, so that is favorite gelato flavor for me here when Christmas rolls around. My absolute two favorite flavors for me, personally though, I would have to say are the Strawberry Cheesecake and Coconut. I love the richness and creaminess of their gelato and chunks of fresh fruit such as the strawberries and yummy coconut. Yummm! I do know a secret about the machines here as I have a good friend who is part Italian and travels to Italy a lot, I know that the expensive machines they use to make their gelato at Paradiso are from Italy, and she says that is why the gelato is so high quality and very authentic. Whatever it is, I think the gelato here is fantastic, and when I am shopping in Fashion Island, I take the escalator down to the base of the Atrium Court to treat myself to some delicious gelato to cap off a visit to this shopping mall.

I did NOT expect this place to be in a food court! I had a difficult time finding it outside on the store fronts until somebody told me it was in the food court. Into the mall I went. The food court, I might add, is one fancy food court. It’s nice that they allow you to get up to four scoops in even the smallest size cup. I got a medium size cup and four flavors fit perfectly well. I got the fragola e crema(pretty weak flavor), pistachio(one of the worst pistachio flavors I’ve had), salted caramel(pretty good and truly sweet and salty), and the hazelnut(too strong). Ironically, the mocha flavor, which I sampled before picking the four mentioned above, was actually the best. It had just the right mix of bitter coffee and sweet gelato. The rest, however, were unappealing even if the consistency of the gelato was spot on. Won’t be back!

Located in the food court on the basement floor of Newport Center. Gelato: OMG… best Gelato I’ve had. Consistency was airy and smooth, almost to a point where it’s chewy(for lack of a better term) — which is good! Ice creams that are freshly frozen(eg. Creamistry, Cauldron) quickly melts. This gelato has body! I got Strawberry Cheesecake(which was good!) and got to sample other flavors too. Location: I went around 6pm on a weekday and it was empty. A lot of sitting space. Eating space is shared with Wahoo’s, Five Guys, etc. Service: Didn’t skimp… they gave a lot per cup. Price: It’s decent for a gelato place. ~$ 3.75 for a small cup(aka piccolo size) Bottom line: A place to definitely come back to! Good price and good gelato: D

They let you put 4 flavors in any one cup. I was able to get multiple flavors in one visit in addition to the samples she gave me! Here’s the breakdown: 1. Bacio was my favorite! Absolutely delicious. 2. Nocciola, the hazelnut flavor that tasted like Nutella, was 2nd place. Both were creamy and authentic. 3. Raspberry(lampone) sorbetto had a good flavor but was a little too creamy for sorbetto. 4. But the stracciatella? I was bummed out over that one! The little chocolate pieces inside made it stracciatella in name, but the taste of the gelato itself was off. It had a strange vanilla flavor to it that reminded me of cookies & cream. It still tasted fine, but it was a bummer for me because stracciatella was my favorite flavor while I was living in Italy, and this one didn’t even taste close. Location: This shop is inside the Fashion Island food court. Go down the escalator, and the food court is on your left – across from Dick’s Sporting Goods. Walk into the food court, and gelato is immediately on your right. Another reviewer said it was hard to find, but I didn’t have any problems. Prices: Fair pricing for Newport(and gelato) at $ 4.59 for a medium cup. For those new to gelato, the cups look tiny, but gelato fills you up. I can’t even finish my medium cup. Go to Italy, and you’ll find the exact same size cups in any gelateria. They also sell bigger containers of gelato for you to take home. Service: Friendly employees who let me try a couple samples and would’ve let me try more if I had so desired. I tried my best to pronounce the Italian names, and the woman helping me said, «You say it so pretty!» and asked if I spoke Italian. I’m trying to learn, so I appreciated her attitude versus the usual weird looks I get when I try to speak Italian! Overall: Surprisingly authentic for being in a food court, although the stracciatella needs work. Good prices, friendly people, an authentic presentation of the gelato(I love seeing those metal rectangular tubs with colorful gelato piled high). Worth a visit in the area, but not really worth a drive unless you’re desperate for some tasty bacio.

The gelato was so yummy! I am more of an ice cream kind of girl, but I casually dip into other things. I was shopping at Fashion Island for Christmas presents and I had to re energize, so I got some gelato. Honestly, it was great! I thought the people would be rude and just scoop me some gelato, but they were very nice. I was surprised, because many people working at ice cream shops tend to be rude around the holiday rush. Thank you guys for the yummy treat! I will definitely stop by again.

I have eaten plenty of gelato in my time. I would rank this place as one of the best gelato shops. It reminded me the time I had gelato in Italy and other parts of Europe. This is the real deal. I like it because they give you samples. My favorite was the pistachio and then hazelnut. I got a small cone because you get more product than the cup. Staff was nice. Can get pricey because it’s Newport Beach /OC.

Most creamy gelato. Great flavor a and great texture. The prices are just right. Get a grande and split it, it’s enough for 2 – 3 people. They give you as many flavored as you want. Use the coupon to get the waffle cone for free. Service was very friendly and welcoming. They give you as many samples as you want. Great gelato place. Coffee flavor was just fantastic and the double chocolate, just heavenly. Many more to try out. We’ll be checking this place out anytime we’re in the area.

I’m picky when it comes to gelatos and sorbettos. When my dad said he was craving gelato, I found this place at Fashion Island. We are not too familiar with Fashion Island so it took a while to find, but it was worth it. It was a hot day, so I was craving more of the fruity flavors rather than creamy flavors, so I ended up ordering sorbettos instead of gelatos. I ordered a cone with guava sorbetto and lemon sorbetto. They were so good, with a perfect balance of tart and sweet. I ordered it in a cone. The cone was not anything special. It was not fresh baked like some of the waffle cones that I have tried. I did end up sampling some of the gelatos, and they were good. Next time I’m here, I’ll have to order them!

The BEST of the BEST of the BEST!!! The is by far our all-time favorite Gelateria in all of the US! The gelato is creamy, not too sweet and offers flavors that will truly please just about anyone! Our favorite flavors: pistachio, stracciatella and bacio Our favorite size: piccolo Our wish list: They used to make cakes which were awesome for birthdays and special occasions. It would be great to have them be available again :)

This place doesn’t compare to the one in Laguna beach, but the quality is just as good. The employees are friendly and are willing to let you sample whatever you want. However, the only thing is you don’t get the fresh waffle cone aroma. This is located inside the food court, next to the elevators. I got the panna cotta and the pistachio and it was quite delicious — great consistency. They ran out of stamp cards so they gave me a buy one get one free card instead. I’ll take it!

I tried to resist it as we were walking through the Fashion Island food court. But how can I ignore gelato? Delicious, delicious gelato. Errr, I guess it’s really the sorbettos that I’m after. Insert emoji of happy face with eyes for hearts here. I stayed back by the tables while the BF went to investigate. He asked the guy behind the counter who informed him that everything on the left side of the case was non-dairy. Score! As a typical Libra-gal, I couldn’t decide between the Watermelon or the Guava. The BF’s solution is to always«get ‘em both!» We asked the gal which size allows us to get two flavors. She said we can get up to four flavors in any size. Well ok then! :) We didn’t want to spoil our dinner so we split a small size. Btw, the Watermelon tastes like fresh watermelon. Mixes well with the Guava. So good!
