Best corn dogs around, and for only $ 2.99! This has become our Newport Beach staple, our tradition even. They nail the breading here — crunchy, not too sweet, perfectly cooked. They deep fry a lot of things here, like at the fair but at a better price. We usually order their perfectly golden fries to split — crispy, hot, and we’re liberal with their seasoning. They offer ice cream bars, huge pickles, frozen bananas, whatever you crave. It’s family owned and operated and they’re nice folks. They even have courtesy water if you ask. The condiments area can get a little messy, a bit dirty, but it’s not a deal breaker. It’s a small space and with only one person cookin’, waits can get long. But it’s worth it. We start here and finish over at Seaside Donuts. Corn dogs, fries, Thai tea and donut holes. It’s the perfect combination.

Prototypical carnival like food, but the corndog and cheese ticks fresh made. Great stuff. Good times. Go get a dog, choke it, and then go surfing with your man.

Love their chili cheese fries, probably the best I’ve ever had. Fries were cooked fresh to order. It’s nice that they’re right by the beach too and have fast service.

Went bike riding from Huntington Beach to Newport Beach and got hungry! Found this nice spot and highly recommended, right by the pier of Newport Beach! Fresh Corndogs and lemonade! The battered of the Corndogs was very fresh and crispy! I have never had a corndog so fresh and it was the perfect amount to make you full. It also is fresh and ready in less than 5 minutes!

Got the chili cheese fries for about $ 5. It was perfection at first! I love my fries skinny and crispy. It was very crispy and went well with the chili and cheese. But then later the fries became way too soggy since it was soaked in chili cheese and just got too salty towards the end. Service was alright, the lady didn’t seem too welcoming or happy to even be working there. P. S.BRINGCASH!

People giving 5 stars are tripping. The corn dog here is shitty as fuck. The batter was old… U could tell the choice hasn’t been changed. The actual hot dog had zero taste = frozen. Don’t come here… Go elsewhere.

Okay, I get the feeling sometimes that I’m the only one not losing my mind. How is the price for most of these items acceptable? Is it because«Newport Beach»? You people need less money. Was here one night to pick up Seaside croissants and walk along the boardwalk and decided to stop in here for a quick bite. Got myself a $ 3 corn dog, and I would have liked to sample at least one other thing to write about on here, but everything else was ridiculously overpriced. At $ 3, the corn dog is the cheapest thing on the menu after a small drink(which is double the price for that size based on what I’ve seen elsewhere). That being said, I did enjoy the fact that it was a freshly dipped corn dog. Although yes, comparably I don’t know if that’s necessary considering it was good but it could have passed for a very good frozen corn dog as well. There is potential here though. They had a hand written sign up showing they offer fried Twinkies, Oreos, and Snickers. And while I was waiting for my corn dog, the two guys working there were discussing whether or not deep fried this or that would be good… why aren’t you doing that? Seriously, revamp the menu to have interesting fried food and I won’t complain about the prices as much because then it’ll be more like novelty food. Would I pay $ 6 for a small thing of nachos? No. Would I pay $ 6 for a deep fried taco? More likely. See? Constructive criticism. Now I feel less bad about the 2 stars. I have balanced my karma.

Have never gotten the food here but I always come for the fresh lemonade! MMM! Keep it coming! I’m giving them a 3 star even though I haven’t eaten the food because the lemonade is JUSTTHATGOOD! I just the food wouldn’t be bad either.

MMMM! Nothing beats a freshly battered corn dog and an ice cold lemonade to accompany you while you are at Newport Beach. Located near the pier and the parking lot, this small restaurant serves all the possible beach foods/snacks you can think of. JUNKFOODSGALORE! Chocolate covered sprinkled banana(frozen), ice cream, nachos, chili cheese fries, cheese dogs, corn dogs, ice cream bars, churros, funnel cake, pretzels, corn on the cob, hot dogs, chips, and much more! Janes’ Corndogs is the only place on the beach that sells these types of food. There is a donut bakery and an ice cream shop nearby, but they don’t serve all the fun snacks that Janes’ does. The prices here are decent– a corn dog or cheese dog are only $ 3 and a large lemonade is less than $ 3 – 4 as well. Oh, but it’s CASHONLY. The corn dog was tasty, especially since they batter and fry it fresh to order. I wish they sold those jumbo corn dogs that are sold at the fair. The lemonade was alright, but it was too sweet in my opinion. I wish it had more lemon juice to add that sour punch.

The epitome of a tourist trap with zero incentive to improve. I used to be a regular patron of Jane’s both at the Newport Pier and Balboa Ferry. Emphasis on used to. Go to any other pier food stand. First Cash Only at this location. Accepting card is not only about convenience but the establishments left that don’t accept card(and even charge you a fee) are typically ones that don’t have to and the service shows. There is an ATM but this is an income generator for the establishment as well. Okay so what I ordered came out to $ 7.01, a penny extra. Surely at an all cash establishment you can meet me on a penny so I don’t have to carry $ 0.99 in change. No? Because you don’t have to work for my business or anyone else? Bottomline there are many places to get a corn dog or a frozen banana in Newport and Balboa. The food is nothing special and everything costs about the same so the only discriminators are location and service. You can’t beat the location and Jane’s knows this but if you walk like 100 feet in any direction you can find the same food without the entitlement. Bonus I saw a pigeon waltz into the back of the kitchen. I’m sure it wasn’t the first nor the last.

I love the chili cheese fries here! omg only thing I suggest is getting less cheese. they put a grip load of cheese on there so it’s too tiring to eat after a while. they also make their own corn dog… pretty darn good!

Who doesn’t like the sound of fresh-dipped corndogs?! Better yet, while at the beach? So we came here wanting that and that alone. We ordered several of these babies and saw the guy freshly dip it in the batter before throwing it in the fryer. Minutes later, he pulls them out and there I saw how beautifully brown the exterior was. I was salivating as I waited for him lay them on the paper-boat plates before handing to me. With both hands I grabbed them and devoured my share as fast as I could. It wasn’t as big as I hoped it would be but for $ 2.99 each, it sounds just about right. I wish the batter was thicker and tastier. I can’t help but compare this to the corndogs you can get inside Disneyland but I know I shouldn’t. Needless to say, I prefer the latter’s version of it for so many reasons. Offering other fun fair treats such as funnel cakes, chili cheese fries, pretzels, cheese nachos, chocolate covered frozen bananas, and fresh squeezed lemonade, I can see why this place is popular to many. But because it’s called«Jane’s Corndogs», I expect more from their corndogs. Service was just ok, too. Cash only.

The power went out all over Newport Beach… Just as me and Hunnie Bunnie were going to go and find some grub! We were just going to go into Jane’s to get some frozen bananas BUT they still had hot food available despite the power outage! Total score. We got a couple of corn on the cobs which were drenched in butter and DELICIOUS and some chili cheese fries that even Hunnie Bunnie enjoyed! They were actually quite good — the fries were shoe string and CRISPY and they have some condiments available so I dumped some delicious jalapenos on the side as well! After we grubbed on that, we each got our own frozen banana — they have a variety — just chocolate dipped OR you can have nuts, or chocolate sprinkles or colored sprinkles. They only do cash but there is an ATM available inside and they have lots of treats and the staff was pleasant!
