Its my favorite neighborhood coffee place. Open later than most and has a really cool vibe. Plus almond milk is an option. Highly recommended. They roast coffee beans onsite.

I’ve been going to this Kean Coffee location for years and am a big fan of their Acai Bowls, as well as Espressos and Dirty Chais. In fact and as I’m writing this review, I’ve just finished my Dirty Chai and am still dreaming about its heavenly taste. Only downside is that this place can get really crowded on the weekends and they also don’t offer wifi. Otherwise, you can get some pretty good coffee at Kean Coffee and I should know since I’m Viennese and we know our coffee ;).

Came here a few weeks ago and stopped by to grab a cup of coffee. We were on our way to the montage and when I heard about their Turkish latte, I had to stop in and take that treat with me. The latte was everything you’d expect from a cup of Turkish coffee, only creamy and light mixed with the dense coffee and spice of cardamom. Amazing is an understatement. I can’t wait to visit again and get my fix. This place definitely delivers!!!

It was busy on a Friday morning, but found parking easily despite on-going construction. The friendly lady got me in and out quickly with a cold brew, no wait needed. However there was a coffee lover that did not move from the condiment station. Strong brew and delicious.

I wish I could’ve tried their regular coffee cuz damn, my decaf latte was DELICIOUS. Almost thought they mistook my order for a mocha cuz it was so rich in flavor. The place feels old American/Middle Eastern/Bohemian but still Newport Beach-y in certain aspects and modern hipster? lol I dig it. The staff is friendly and not afraid to reach out if you need help; a customer lost her sunglasses and the guy(who looked to be the manager) walked her through the entire store helping her look for it. Wish I lived closer so I can come here more often!

Love the coffee, but WOAH the selection. I was overwhelmed with the choices, but it was very good coffee. Their pastries were amazing as well. We had a raspberry and chocolate scone along with a sweet potato muffin… I hope the next time i’m up in that area I can get a cup!

I wanna give a shoutout to Steve-o and Mike. These two guys made my experience here so awesome. I initially ordered a Chai Tea Latte as I’ve never had one before. Though after drinking a third of the cup, I realized this was just too damn sweet and gross for my tastes. When I asked the both of them of the situation, they were both very understanding and even offered an alternative Turkish Latte which was so friggin’ good! I usually think of coffee shops as a dime-a-dozen, but the combination of great coffee, shop décor, and exceptional service makes it an incredible location! A+

I enjoy their«mixed» drinks and the old Diedrichs coffee blend«pour over», and am grateful for the gluten free goodies that they offer. Today, I began with one server and then Carlos took over and seemed confused and as if he need to calm down and slow down. When I mentioned his need to slow down, he replied that there was a long line and he needed to work fast. He was grabbing my muffins so fast he was shredding the topping off of them. And when I mentioned to another worker that they had run out of cup sleeves, he told me that they had plenty behind the counter. How nice for them, but he didn’t need to be short with me, as I was only trying to be helpful, since they are unable to see the paper goods from where they are. Try to be a little more customer friendly. That is why you only received 3 stars today. Kean’s of Tustin has a much friendlier atmosphere and staff.

I’ve been going to the location in Tustin for years, and I’ve now finally come to visit the original location. It’s pretty large with decent seating inside and a few tables outside. The layout is far more open than the Tustin location and I appreciate not being cramped inside while I try to relax. The line moves fairly quickly though it takes a bit of time for your drink to come out. I ordered the mocha latte and failed to specify that it was to go so they served it in a giant mug which allows all the heat to escape from your drink all at once. So be aware to order it «to go» even if you intend to stay. The drink itself was incredibly sweet. I couldn’t finish it. This seems to be a growing trend with cafes across the board. I have to order everything with half or even a quarter sweetener or whatever it is they use. Or I’ll just order black coffee which is good too. The parking is stuffy and a bit of a headache and the Tustin Kean is closer to me so I’ll stick with that one.

I was disappointed by my latte at Kean coffee. My friend and I ordered lattes and the espresso was dead in both of them, which was surprising because they seemed to be over-staffed. Also the atmosphere was lacking.

I was surprised by their high quality… I was expecting just another average coffee shop when I was invited by some friends… I will definitely return. By the way… a very friendly service as well.

5 stars for the two things we got here. I wish I was in the area longer to try out some other drinks… but Kean Coffee, you were a tease. You gave me a taste and left me wanting to come back for more. Hypes: — Turkish latte. I have never imagined such a concept. If you’re a fan of turkish coffee or tea, this is your jam, but without the bold. The cardamom is ground, and adds a natural sweetness masking the bitterness in the milky texture. — cold brew — light, fresh, and not bold. One of the best I’ve had Gripes: — Seating is limited in this crowded area. — No highchairs for kids

I think I kind of like this location a bit more than the one in Tustin. Not by a lot but still. I’m not sure if it’s the Newport Beach area itself or just the layout of the place. I think they have the same amount of seating but there’s more open space here which I like. It’s also a bit less crowded, granted I did come on a weekday around 6 pm. I like this place a lot though. The fact that Kean Coffee doesn’t have wifi is either a blessing or a curse, not quite sure which yet. I get a ridiculous amount of work don’t but /no wifi/! Honestly it’s nice though, you don’t see as many people sitting with their laptops in a corner. Instead of people with laptops you see groups of friends having conversations over coffee, or someone curled up on the couch with a book, or a poor college student sitting with her books spread out and intently studying(hint: it’s me). It’s nice. The baristas are super nice and are always very patient. If you ask, they’re very helpful with providing suggestions which I loved when I first started coming here. Now, the real deal: the coffee! I can’t really explain how great the coffee is it’s just really great. Like, it’s a beautiful balance of slightly bitter but not, it wakes you up but doesn’t leave you shaking. It’s deep and aromatic and fantastic. I love it. I’ve gotten the Turkish latte(iced) as well as the honey vanilla latte(also iced) and both were fantastic. The grasshopper(mint chocolate essentially) is definitely better hot than cold so save that one for a rainy day. The aforementioned drinks I had gotten at their Tustin location but when I got my regular favorite(the spiced Mayan mocha) here, it tasted just as fantastic so I’m assuming the others should be too. All in all, definitely my new favorite coffee place!

I’ve been wanting to check out this coffee place. The parking is kind of a hassle and it’s super busy. But I ordered my coffee and they got it out pretty quick for how busy they were. I got the Mayan Spice Mocha and it was DELICIOUS! I’ll definitely go back again when I’m in the area.

I probably been here so many times and I never wrote a review for this place. I use to come here after the beach in Corona Del Mar. We usually go and get away from the cities of LA(that’s where I’m from) Alright note to self Ernest. The only reason why I give 5 stars is because the people makes it personal when you make the visit. Especially when it comes to coffee, how much time do you spend at the register? Like 2 minutes? Anyways, it can get busy where lots of people love hanging out. I usually study and plan my week here when we drive out here. I love coming here and now that I am starting like coffee, I would love to try their caffe latte next time. Till next time!

Was in Newport on business and since traffic heading back to LA was horrid, I decided to finish a couple of projects over something with espresso shots. Unilocal guided me to Kean Coffee with their compelling 1007 reviews and solid 4.5 star rating. There was plenty of parking and surprisingly enough seating on a Saturday at 5 pm. The coffee selection was strongly appealing; they also have good teas and some sweater drinks, too. The website claims their organic fair trade coffee is roasted daily. So there you go. I looked around for desserts and selection was not stellar — probably to be expected towards the end of the week. There were some pastries left and I ordered Florentino, which was surprisingly good — with hard caramel inside and lots of nuts on top. My latte was done right, and I regretted not living closer as I would love to try other coffees on their menu. There was one incomprehensible thing: NO Wi-Fi. Or power outlets. That’s right! This is your talk-to-each-other-read-a-book-or-just-daydream café. And people were doing just that! I was the only person on my laptop, AND they didn’t ask me to leave :) So I guess that was ok. Excellent place! I would expand dessert selection. Highly recommend!

I got to the office early only to find out the top bosses weren’t there yet, so damn I was like forget this, lemme hop on over to Kean to grab some coffee. I’ve been wanting to try this turkish coffee for the longest now. I’ve had turkish ice cream before and it was horrible so I was hoping the coffee would be much better… and it was. Right off the bat, the ambiance is so nice. Its vibe has that authentic coffee house feel. The atmosphere is warm and calm. The service was so nice and friendly. The coffee was really good. It gave me a great boost to start my morning. The Turkish latte was definitely the truth. I loved the caramel which blended so well with the brew. I gotta definitely return again. I had it to-go so it wasn’t as nice as I’d like which means a second return is gonna happen. The baristas are the best here. They are so quick and welcoming. My latte was whipped up within a few moments after I had ordered it and presented to me with smiles. I love the whole vibe of Kean Coffee. Overall its a really good coffee house. They offer great coffee and lattes and even better service.

There’s no other place that serves coffee like Kean! Parking can be difficult because it’s a small lot and there are a lot of 30 min only spots. Plus, they blocked off a section to do construction. Kean itself is a good size, some comfy chairs when you walk in, high bar stools towards the back of the coffee shop and a few tables along the window and there is some outside seating as well. It’s usually always packed when I come, even at night. There’s a bathroom in the building, go outside and through another door on the left. You’ll need a key. It’s clean. NOWIFI, which bothers a lot of people but I usually go there to catch up with friends or just take my drink to go. I’m not sure how people can study there, but some people do. Because Kean is so crowded, it can get very loud. Last summer, or maybe two summers ago they had a java mint shake on their menu… It’s no longer on there and only a few people know how to make it. They really need to bring it back! I don’t remember what was in it… But it was VERY good. I always get the caffe Napoli which has white mocha sauce and hazelnut I think. I usually get it hot because I love the latte art they make but I tried it cold(medium $ 4.20) and it was just as good. It was strong but creamy and not overwhelmingly sweet. It’s weird that the melted ice didn’t make my drink watery unlike Starbucks or other coffee shops, but hey, I’m not complaining! Their pastries are fresh and pretty good. If you want something sweeter, there’s also a Susie cakes located in the same plaza!

Great coffee and plenty of other foods that go well with it. Bring your own commuter cup or request their ceramic mugs and save a tree! They’re happy to ro se out your otherwise clean drinking vessel. Very popular and busy(line out the door) when we arrived at 8:30 on a Saturday morning but the line moved swiftly. Took a little longer than expected(10 minutes) to get my daughter’s specialty drink(why didn’t she learn to like plain coffee).

This is one of the few times I wish Unilocal had a 4.5 stars option. I love some good coffee and many of my friends highly recommended me to give this place a try. I must say, they definitely lived up to the hype. Everything about this café was awesome. Parking was not really a huge issue but I could see it becoming one because of its limited space. It’s hard to drive by Kean Coffee because of its huge sign in front of the store. The interior was nothing really special or hip. Kind of reminded me of a very«Starbucks-feel» inside. However, I liked it because they kept it pretty simple. Nothing too flashy or crazy. Additionally, there were many seatings and tables inside and outside which was great. I ordered their 24 hour cold brew coffee, and wow, one of the best I’ve ever had. They roast and grind their own beans which I found it to be very neat. It was not acidic whatsoever and the taste was on point. Not too bitter, bland, or sweet. It tasted just right. It was literally the perfect coffee drink. What was even better was the price. It was only $ 3.10 for a 24 oz. cup(if you love coffee and tried other cafes, you know this is a good price). The staff was also very kind and helpful! If you’re looking for a coffee shop to study at, this is NOT the place. They don’t have wifi and outlets inside the café. It’s more of a chill vibe and hanging out with friends kind of place. Only reason why I gave them 1 star off was because studying is almost impossible in here. However, I’m definitely going to be coming back(or try the Tustin location) for their cold brew!
