He is always late. He was late hours to a procedure that I was having done.

I went to his office in January and here it is April and I’ve never gotten a call back. I tried to reach someone several times but I was always placed on hold for long periods. Finally I gave up and called my Dr. for a referral to someone else. I have an appointment for the procedure already and every time I called the other Dr.‘s office I get quick response I noticed he has a 5 star rating on Unilocal.I’m giving 2 stars because it is a nice office with a friendly staff and when I went for the initial consultation it went well. They just don’t get back to you.

I was referred to this doctor for consultation for a screening colonoscopy. I called Dr. DeGuzman’s office to schedule the consultation and was placed on hold for 17 minutes. When I realized my call had been forgotten I called back only to get a voicemail requesting to leave a message for a return call within 24 hours. I never received a call back and I called the office two more times and left two more messages. I never received a call back to schedule a consultation. And to date I have never been contacted. So I would not recommend an office that places no importance on a new patient and is too busy to return messages. I have also informed my primary care physician so he is aware that his referrals are receiving this type of non service. I have scheduled with another gastroenterologist, already been seen and am scheduled for my procedure.

I had my 2nd colonoscopy today with Dr. De Guzman, and lets face it they are just not fun. The nurses and anesthesiologist were wonderful, at first I was a little upset at the wait time it took to get the procedure started, but we must remember we are human’s, Dr D and the staff were very behind, but a patient earlier in the morning had many polyps that needed removal, Dr D had decided to spend more time with that patient causing a delay in the rest of the schedule. It very well May have saved that person’s life. My first colonoscopy I was diagnosed with Cancer, I will say I fought and although the cancer had spread I am currently in remission, at that time I had Dr. Kaufman a great doctor as well, I guess sometimes we really need to think of others before ourselves, these doctors are human beings as well and need to be respected for the lives that they save, thanks to Dr. De Guzman, Dr. Kaufman, and Dr. Beanes and Dr. Angstreich and Dr. Teo and the staff of Hoag for saving my life this year.
