We had a rain gutter located high on the roof line of our second story home that was detaching and barely hanging on. Out of The Gutter immediately responded to our call for help and took care of the problem before we sustained any significant damage to our home. We are grateful to Ryan and Guy for proving superb customer service! Highly recommended.

I had K style aluminum gutters installed today, and Out of the Gutter is first class all the way. Rich and Guy came out to give an estimate and help me pick the right style and colors to go with my historic home. Robert, Jesus, Josh, and Danny installed today, paying particular attention to detail and making sure every corner was perfect. It was a very big job, and they stayed late until it was done right – and were still smiling at the end of the super long day. They were a great crew. They delivered top quality service at an affordable price. I highly recommend them.

I wish our experience was better. I got a quote in February and Guy was timely for that appointment and super helpful and pleasant. My husband and I agreed to go with him and he could install the next Friday, as he said he’s in Long Beach every Friday for his daughter, who was with him at the time of the estimate.
All other meetings with Guy, he was extremely late. One time he even texted he was on the way, then again to say he stopped for gas… he arrived 1.5 hours after he said he would be there.
I acknowledge that I did indulge him for eve and roof questions that we uncovered prepping for the gutter install. He helped with them but then I cancelled the need later the same day since the work was covered under warranty. Guy appreciated the quick call and that they were back to just gutters.
After this something changed. What we talked about during the estimate and the day they installed was different. Not sure if it was due to the distraction of his daughter being present during the estimate as I was clear on what we discussed. A few weeks later, he wanted to meet us at 2pm to review an option he had for a fix, so we took time off and came home early and he didn’t show up. His team was there and were done so we called Guy who didn’t answer and had the team contact him as we had many concerns with the install. He talked in circles about the work performed and we asked for what was agreed during the estimate as what they did wasn’t what was discussed nor agreed to in multiple calls with Guy. This caused much back and forth for weeks to get a resolution. All we wanted are gutters that drained correctly and a front porch that didn’t flood when it rains!
The disappointing part is Guy took no accountability for any of his late arrivals, miscommunication or the wrong work. He would talk in circles and blame it on me to my husband when he came to correct his work while I was home to hear him. Very unprofessional! He even asked us to pay more to correct his work. We paid it just so that we could be done with dealing with him.

We called six different companies trying to get estimates for gutter repair or replacement as ours were old and damaged and weren’t working properly anymore. I didn’t hear back from one of them due to busyness from «El Nino», not even a call back to say they were busy. I put out a Unilocal message to Out of The Gutter on a Wednesday, they had someone out to give an estimate the next day, and the work was completed within a week. The prices were great, the staff was friendly, and the gutters look great. The colors match our house perfectly and we are very happy with them. I have personally recommended Out of the Gutter to friends and highly recommend them to you.

Out of the Gutter does awesome work! We are doing a remodel and needed to replace all of our existing gutters and add new. Out of the Gutter came out and did a flawless job when everyone else said they had a 6 month backlog or wouldn’t even return our phone call. I would highly recommend Out of the Gutter to anyone who needs rain gutter work. Don’t even bother calling anyone else. Go straight to the best!

Unprofessional. Scheduled appointment for Monday afternoon and after rushing home to be available, Rich or his rep never showed, no response, no apology, no estimate. Good luck after El Nino passes.

I’m a general contractor and I hired Out of the Gutter to do the gutters and downspouts on a recent project in Laguna Beach. They were very knowledgeable and helpful in designing an effective system on a challenging property. They came up with creative solutions to some unique conditions and did good, clean work and completed it right before a big storm.

Am I SO happy I decided to get new gutters! The first El Nino test has happened and they pasted beautifully! My old gutters were installed by a contractor who was doing other work on my home. At that time, I thought — I need new gutters — how hard could it be — why not buy them at Home Depot and have a licensed building contractor install them? Well I found out, why not… Water is definitely not your friend! Bottomline, Out of The Guttter did a professional job and there is no comparison to what I had before. I will not take gutters for granted again and am very happy with my new and improved gutter system!

They came out, measured my house, left me with sample colors and gave me a written estimate in July. I told him I would hire him. I informed them I was finalizing plans to reroof my house and would be ready sometime this fall.
In the second week of November, I phoned to schedule the job since the contractor would be done by December. Owner says he’s too busy. I told him that I understand that, and I would be willing to wait, and that they had already done the estimate. He asked me to text him a picture of the estimate. I did so. The original estimate was for $ 1295. He responds that he can do it but he refuses to honor the discount on the written estimate and it will now cost me $ 1834. Seriously?!
Um. That’s not a good business practice. If you don’t want to honor WRITTEN quotes, then put a note at the bottom specifying how long the quote is good for unless customer pays a deposit, which I would have done.

We lucked out and got fast service for a gutter clean up.

I’m very happy with the new gutters that were installed at my house. Like some of the other reviewers have noted — scheduling is difficult — but I got an estimate and was able to get the work scheduled and completed. Most other companies I tried couldn’t even return a phonecall or e-​mail. It is clear that gutter companies are in high demand this fall.
Richard, the owner, is managing the scheduling himself and that has greatly improved the service. He reads his e-​mails, returns calls and even texts.
Michael and Robert who managed the install did an amazing job. I have an older home with some unique configurations and they figured it all out. For example they built and installed a single gutter piece over 70 feet in length and worked around a complex outdoor awning in my back yard.
There was one part of the design that didn’t work the first time it rained. Richard made sure that they came back and installed a new piece to address the issue.

After my previous review, the owner finally contacted me so I called him on his cell he gave me. He answered and was really trying to butter me up and told me,“I really don’t like that negative Unilocal review,” that was the only reason he contacted me, not because I called a bunch, only because I wrote a 1 star review. After that he proceeded to make an appointment to come to my house (which I was very happy about) to review the original estimate he had gave me 10 months ago. He told me he would be there at 2:00pm and told me that he was going to raise the price $ 200 from the original estimate (which I wasn’t happy about). 2pm came along and he was no where to be found. He called me at 2:19 telling me that he was going to come at 5 instead. 5 rolled around and he never showed up or contacted me. It is now 9pm and still no contact from him.
I can’t believe I wasted a day home from work on a company that did this to me.

Just like most construction people right now, these guys are super busy and in my case it took a while to finish the job. They did a very good job and they are very good people.

It Rained! In Long Beach Today. I just had new gutters installed by Guy and his Team with Richard ‘s input. I was worried about leaks, overflow on and on… It rained in Long Beach for first time in months and the Gutters were able to collect All of the water. almost 2 inches, all went according to plan.

Wow these guys are phenomenal. Saw their van driving around town called spoke to Rich, that evening Guy was by my house with quote. Couple days later we adjusted some things on the quote and they started the job. Done in 2 days replaced all my gutter with new gutter fascia board and backer board they’ve got a great crew! Justin’s a great carpenter And (didn’t get his name) but the gentlemen that makes the gutter is a pro also… Just stay out of their way and let him fly. So glad we found them… I went on the reviews here on Unilocal ONLY after I got their quote… didn’t shop them… felt they are a standup company. …Now all we need is that el Nino, and all’s well (I think).Go out of the Gutter! Do it now before it rains!

Spoke to Rich on the phone after a recommendation from a neighbor on
. He was at my house that evening! Very professional and helped to explain everything in detail. Rich was on time and had a quote in my hand by the end of our meeting. We shopped around and compared both cost and quality of materials (inc’l mounting hardware, gutters, spouts, etc.) and I could not find a better deal. Bottom line, we felt comfortable paying what I did for the level of service and quality of work we received.
The day before we were scheduled for install Rich sent his project manager Guy out to make sure everything was in order and to answer any last minute questions, as they were to do the install while we were at work the next day. Again, punctual and very professional. He made me feel very comfortable and walked me through step by step the plan for the installation (where downspouts were to go, what areas were to get gutters, etc).
I came home from work just as they were finishing and everything looked phenomenal! Guy has an amazing attention to detail and made sure every piece was installed to perfection. His team is clean, quick, and extremely friendly. They even surprised my wife by putting gutters on our dog house!
I would highly recommend Out of the Gutter to anyone looking for quality work at an affordable price. Ask for Guy, he’s incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, very kind, and great with our giant dog too!

Rich came out within ½ hour of my call to give me an estimate to clean my rain gutters. I thought it was a fair price because I had ignored them for a long time and they had plants growing in them. I also felt comfortable with their guys on the roof because this business is legit with the proper insurance — I checked it out. The two guys that came to clean the gutters were friendly and hard working and they even fixed an issue with the ridge line metal piece on my roof at no extra cost. I will call them again… this time before I have plants growing in the gutters. Thanks guys!
