Hand’s down, the best kept secret in the desert. If you like live music, incredible food, exceptional service(a little slow), and an on site owner who had a rad ass 62 convertible Caddy in the driveway then make this a stop. You will pass right by this unassuming place if you don’t know where it is… but once inside, your transported back to the good ol days of a rat pack like atmosphere. The piano man will invite you up to sing with him, if you have the lungs and can carry a tune… the wait staff remember your name, and you will not be disappointed by the portions or the exceptional food. Seriously. That. Good. Yes, to valet. Yes, to feeling like you had a great experience and want to go back again.

Nice lounge area at the back of the hotel with lots of outdoor seating — comfy couches with large pillows. The bar menu had over 20 cocktails to choose from along with highlighting and rotating a local beer. Red Trolley Ale was the draft choice this time. My husband got the fried oysters and really enjoyed them. I was blinded by my love of lobster and ordered the mini lobster rolls — bad choice. The menu said butter poached lobster on mini rolls and what’s not to like with that description? What I got was a hoagie roll loaded with lettuce, red peppers, maybe apples? and a few, small chunks of heavily peppered lobster– so very sad! Served with chips and and a flavorful, jalapeño aioli sauce at a $ 16 price tag — I do not recommend ordering it unless the you like those ingredients together — I guess I am just a purest when it comes to my lobster. There are a ton of other menu options like calamari, scallops and crab cakes. The salads were very large and looked tasty too.

If it wasn’t for the bartender(Jeremy/Jeffrey), I would have only rated this lounge 2 stars. He was funny, cool and his drinks were great! I did not have such a great experience when we stopped by for a mid-afternoon snack. After the waitress brought us drinks, she did not come back. After about 10 minutes, I sought her out and she said, «I’ll be right there.» After another 15 minutes, I looked for her and saw her serving other tables. I went up to the bar to take care of our drink tab and expressed my disappointment to the bartender. There was a manager standing there when I was sharing my concerns for being made to wait too long. He just stared — did not do anything. Maybe he wasn’t a manager, maybe he’s just there to stand around — I just do not know. Anyway, our party left still hungry — will probably not go back there to eat. Will definitely go back there at night for drinks.

Located next to(or is part of) the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Sandbar Lounge is a nice place to wind-down and grab some food or a drink without having to drive away from the hotel. We decided to walk over for some bar food while we were staying at the hotel. We ordered their Beef Nachos and BBQ Chicken Wings. Their nachos were really good! I thought it would be a small plate of chips but it turned out to be a large plate of nachos smothered with cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, jalapenos, and strips of beef. My friend cannot stop raving about these nachos! The wings were nothing special. We got a small side of the hot sauce to dip the wings in. It was ok. The place was actually pretty packed with people — perhaps other hotel guests? Our waitress was friendly but kind of odd. We were sitting by the door and everytime she came in, she would swear. Not very classy. On a nice day, it seems like it would be a good idea to sit outside by the«fire pit,» although it did seem to be louder outside than inside. Overall, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here but it is a convenient restaurant if you’re staying at the hotel.
