Tip: Leave your handbag in your car or be prepared to hand it over to the very nice woman. It’s not because they worry you will swipe stuff; it’s just so tight in here that one wrong move could send $ 8000 crashing to the floor. Tip: There is a sister store, located nearby and named«The Next Notch», with a similar, wonderful collection of antiques. Both places are worth your time. There are so few true European antique stores remaining in Orange County that I hold my breath each time I drive up to Tom Stansbury, and then breeaaatthhe when I see that they are still there. Oh, thank goodness. The interior is literally packed with antique bric-à-brac, furniture and dishware. So many unique finds here. But bring a fat wallet – unique does not come cheap. The outside is like a miniature architectural salvage yard. Statues, garden gates, cast iron tables and the like. A note on customer service: The lady who works at Tom Stansbury Antiques on Old Newport Blvd. is just as sweet as she can be. Sharp witted, funny and so friendly. By contrast, I must say, the sister store, The Next Notch, is not nearly so friendly. The last time I went into The Next Notch, Tom’s larger and also well stocked store, the owner was too busy chatting with a friend(about cheap clients) to greet me when I entered. He never said a word to me during the 20 minutes I spent there. If I was rating Tom’s customer service, I would not be giving 5 stars.

Beautiful items and friendly knowledgeable people! Appreciate that am able to purchase items at various price points, very fair pricing for such amazing antiques. Like also that he has different scale size of items and it enables you to find that special piece to fit just right in your space!

No skulduggery here! All the prices were clearly marked and I must say this is one of the best glass collections I’ve ever seen anywhere! Little pricey but you get what you pay for! The lady in there her name is Vivian she’s an absolute angel!

I accidentally discovered this jaw dropping castleesque museum with treasures for sale while exploring industrial West Newport Beach during starter surgery on my miracle mobile with just the brief walk through floor to ceiling isles full of authentic artistic décor awesomeness leaving me speechless so for now I will just share my photo compilation and return later to edit in more descriptions after my next visit when I will schedule time to digest the overwhelming opulence now in my dreams for redecorating my empty nest &;-)

Full to the brim ! And overflowing ! Fabulous selection of American, English and continental antiques. The perfect dusty treasure trove for the antique hunter. The prices were negotiable and the selection astonishing ! I found more than I could afford ! This is a must see if you like truly early things.
