I came to this place with my boyfriend with a Groupon. We had the wine flight and cheese tasting. I had reds, my boyfriend had white & red, we were served 3 glasses of each. It was accompanied by 3 different cheeses as well as olives, jam and some toasted sliced crustiness. I have been to several wine bars and a few wineries for wine & cheese tastings and this place does not compare to them at all, at least in the upper tier. I definitely would not have come here without a Groupon, and I would have second thoughts of ever coming here again. The value was not too great and the service could have been a lot better, as it was not very busy when we visited.

I came here while staying at the Marriott hotel recently & was very impressed with the customer service our bartender, Melody provided. While I sat at the bar to have a drink waiting for my friend & a slightly creepy, inebriated guest kept trying to hit on me. Melody was too sweet & moved the guy over a couple seats away from me while he left the bar briefly & checked on me anytime she noticed he wouldn’t shut up. She was a great wingman! haha She also made a few menu recommendations. I ended up ordering the seared ahi tuna nachos & Cabernet which were very good. I stopped by for coffee the next morning before leaving & the people working the bar/coffee area were not as friendly but also not rude. I would recommend this place just based on Melody’s great customer service alone!

I came here twice through Groupon. My BF and I were so impressed by the nice outside area atmosphere and the good deal that I suggested my friend get the groupon too so we could go again. Very different 2nd time around than 1st time. They no longer allowed us to pick the 3 tastings, which if I knew I wouldn’t have come. Most of us had at least 2 types of wine that we don’t enjoy out of the 3 tastings. He also didn’t have us choose what types of cheeses we wanted either, while the waitress last time did.

I bought the Living Social deal and took my cousin out for her birthday. We were very disappointed. The service here is pretty terrible. We were told to seat ourselves, waited for about 15 minutes without acknowledgment. Once we saw the server seat and wait on another table before even so much as saying hello to us, I got up and asked to have a menu. When we told our server we had the living social deal he gave a grunt of an implied«dammit» and told us we could not choose which wines or cheese we could have. We ordered a couple additional appetizers including fries, the fries were never brought out but we were still charged for them. The wine was mediocre mid-shelf wine from any grocery store, a chardonnay, pinot noir, and rose, nothing special. The cheese was also nothing special, a basic cheddar and brie. I used to be server and always give an extra benefit of the doubt to those that wait on me in a restaurant, that said, when you have 6 tables, 4 of which have already gotten their food/wine there is no excuse for you to not even acknowledge your table! Lastly, when our server brought out our check he actually said to me «i know you got the living social but you should really tip on the full amount» this is so beyond rude, unprofessional, and inappropriate. What right do you have to tell me how much tip I should give you and what is the implication, that I am cheap? I was insulted to say the least.

This review is for the LivingSocial deal I purchased for a tasting for a wine flight of 3 choices, either 2 reds + 1 white or 2 whites + 1 red. I enjoy my whites a lot more so I decided to go with the latter choice. The wine flight was accompanied by 3 different cheeses and came with olives, jam, almonds, and little toasted crostinis. I could only remember the one I liked most, the LaCrema Chardonnay, but I still enjoyed the other tastings as well. I came mid-afternoon on the weekend, so it was expected this hotel bar/kitchen was fairly empty. But I actually liked that it was pretty empty, so that my friend and I felt like we had most of the patio area to ourselves. It had a really nice outdoors view that overlooked the Back Bay, and there was a nice breeze without any sun directly on us, but there is always the option to stay inside if you prefer that. Service was a bit slow since there really was only one person for both the inside and outside patio, but that was fine since we weren’t in any rush. Make sure to bring your parking ticket with you so that you can get validated at the front desk :) Hopefully, I’ll be able to come check out some of the happy hour/daily specials they have during the weekdays sometime!

My friend bought a living social for three 3oz pours & a cheese plate, & I’m pretty sure the staff was unaware of this deal going on. When we arrived we were seated outside & the manager came over with the menu. The location is super nice, quiet, & right by the water which is super relaxing & great for conversation. Anyways, we got to choose our three wines & three cheeses. We chose one white & two reds. The Fransican Cab was delicious! However not a fan of the Pinot Noir Or the Pinot Gris. The cheese were all delicious though & paired with olives, jam, almonds & toasted bread. Service here was okay. I felt the staff lacked communication & also our wine glasses came dirty, which he gladly replaced. We were also given the bill before even asking if we wanted another glass or anything else which I thought was a little rude. Overall decent place, location is nice! They also have live music every Friday night I believe, which is probably worth checking out!
