GREAT local bar! Pool table, darts and a back patio space with corn hole, Jinga. Great atmosphere and excellent bar prices too. Drinks on the Levee are expensive. Walk a ½ block to Bart’s on York and save a lot of money!!!

This is everything a local bar should be. They have an excellent patio, it’s an oasis compared to the other bars at the levee. Julie the owner is a no nonsense type person, but as long as you act like an adult she’s great.

Located across from the Newport on the Levee and the courthouse. We just came from a smoky bar and wanted to have drinks somewhere else. We thought we would go to Bart’s. We figured it was away from the touristy area and laid back. This bar does allow you to smoke, but thankfully, there was no smokers– so it didn’t stink. The bartender was very cool and friendly. I wasn’t sure what beer I wanted to drink. He was nice enough to let me sample a couple. I ended up getting the 312 Urban Wheat which is a American Pale Wheat Ale style beer for $ 5.00 a pint. There was probably 5 drafts on tap, but they do carry domestic and craft bottles. This bar had a rustic and nostalgic look. When you walk in there is a touch tunes jukebox, place is open and not claustrophic, there is a pool table in the back and bathrooms are clean. They do not have a menu, however the gentleman mentioned that we were allowed to bring food in. It’s been awhile since I came to this bar, was a couple of years ago, but never left a review. I really enjoyed my time here. Nice local joint to hang out and have a couple of beers.

Nice bar that has a lot more room on the inside than you would think. I disagree with Scott’s comment that they have a limited beer selection, unless he’s talking about their drafts, wherein there’s only about 4 or 5. There are plenty of bottle options and I had a Newcastle $ 4 and 2 Rivertown Roebling Porters also $ 4. The bar has a full spread of the usual liquors including all the fun new flavors of vodka. The owner and bartender Julie(if I recall) was friendly and talkative. She even made some popcorn and plopped it right in front of me. While not as good as the crack-corn of Knockback Nats, I appreciate any free munchables. There was also a MegaTouch game system at the bar. There is a large outdoor patio in the back where there are some grills and one can bring in some food and grill it up and play some cornhole too. I enjoyed my first time and hope to spend some time in the outdoor area and avoid some of the indoor smokers(reason I docked a star. :().

Decent bar, great service, limited beer selection. There is a spacious patio out back that is great for cornhole. Pool table and jukebox within. Remember, this is a bar in Kentucky, so smoking inside is a go. That said, I went here on Tuesday night and left without the odor of the bar following me as the patio was open.

When you are tired of the glitch of the leeve head over to Barts. A classic bar. good beer selection and a pool table. Bathrooms are kind of cold thou.

average bar just outside of the newport levee hustle and bustle. below average beer selection above average prices, decent space, but of course, deal with the smoking inside, or head to the very spacious back porch to enjoy a pleasant evening. If you want to avoid the crowds but find yourself in the area, check it out, but you aren’t missing anything special.

Came in for food and beer before a show at Southgate House. They didn’t serve food but the bartender shared her pizza with us, very cool. Bartender was very nice, obnoxious owner was there briefly, thankfully.

Okay so back in my «celebrate the weekend» days, Bart’s was a favorite. It had a jukebox with decent tunes, a pool table that was surrounded be couches and clean bathrooms. Oh, yeah, and the drinks had alcohol in them.(Do you see where this is going?) Bart’s is the sort of place that you have driven past and not noticed, you may have even walked past Barts and not noticed it! We have been to Bart’s twice in the past month and were disappointed twice in the past month. Let’s start from the door upon entering there was a sign on the door directing passersby to the bathroom at White Castle, there’s nothing wrong with that but it was funny so I thought I would mention it. When we got inside the barkeep practically jumped over the bar«Where’s you’re IDs, ladies?». I have to say that if she had of been implying that she thought I was to young to be in the bar, I would have been flattered but no this was her greeting to every patron… Now let’s get to the goods. I drink gin and tonic, this is a not hard drink to mess up. gin. tonic water. lime. She must have forgotten the gin. I even let my White Zinfandel friend taste it and she thought, MMM Sprite! I was served Sprite both times we were there! We have discovered that the only drink that the bartender at Bart’s serves well is bottled beer. The first bad experience we had, the bar was full of people. The second time we went, there were far less people, maybe the word is getting around. Once we were the last, she was done and made last call. Now I don’t think it was wrong for her to want to go home but there were at least 10 people in our group, we were all drinking and we were all tipping even though she sucked, and we weren’t being rowdy. We were a easy group she could have sat at the bar and read a magazine. Did I mention last call was at 1. Bartender aside, Bart’s is a great bar they have clean bathrooms by bar standards, pool table, jukebox, a patio with plenty of seating and corn hole. What more could a bar goer want? a GIN and tonic. Next time we will go to Southgate House where the bartenders actually tend bar.
