This is the first I’ve heard of this bakery and I have been living in the area for months now. Ran into it by mistake. Stopped in to try it out. Bought several different ones to same them. I believe the baklava was my favorite one. It was made perfectly, nice and flaky and packed with a lot of flavor. The crème horn was not as good, not sure if it was sitting there for a while but was kinda stale, usually the crème horns are my favorite and I was highly disappointed.

As far as bakeries /doughnut shops go, there is definitely better quality to be had. If I were asked to pick between a Kroger doughnut or these, I’d pick these any day of the week. However, there are other independently owned /tastier alternatives in close proximity that I would choose; I just didn’t get that fresh, heavy and«yeasty» feeling while eating their pastries. Having grown up in the grocery business, it felt more akin to someone pulling pre made doughnuts out of a freezer, baking them off according to directions provided, and then glazing /frosting them fresh. What you do get with this bakery is service with a smile, ease of parking in Newport, a large dining area to lounge in(if you so choose), lengthier business hours and certainly a larger /dependable selection. One thing I thought was a bummer is that there was no public restroom to use after an hour long conversation with a family member over coffee and a doughnuts — talk about a mad dash back to the house!

Great local bakery. We stopped in and grabbed a few morning treats, she visiting our daughter in Covington. The donuts and danish were amazing. Plus they are big. Good coffee is a bonus! Next time we’ll grab a coffee cake, as they looked good too!

Fabulous service and excellent donuts. We aren’t from around the area, so the Unilocal reviews were right on when they said the service and food were great. Will definitely stop by when passing through again.

I love this bakery –best in Newport and the coffee isn’t bad either! The cheese pockets and fried danish are to die for! Elephant ears also are darn good!

I wondered in to this lovely little gem this morning on a quest for a decent doughnut. What I found was one of the best doughnuts I have ever eaten, a decent cup of coffee, and a nice little sitting room area that’s nice and quite. Will be going back again soon, probably tomorrow. FYI there is a $ 4 minimum for credit cards.

This is a cute no-nonsense bakery. I happened to stop in for coffee, which was good, and the quality and flavor I would expect from a bakery(better than gas station, not quite as good as a coffee shop). There were a ton of different types of donuts and pastries in the display cases as well as freshly baked breads, rolls, and other goods. The smell alone of the bakery items was intoxicating and reminded me of trips to the bakery when I was young. The two ladies working behind the counter were knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. For health reasons, maybe this is not the very everyday stop, but if you’re in the mood for a treat it is worth checking out.

I stop here at the Newport location about twice a month and just love the donuts. Especially the the chocolate. There’s a huge selection of pastries, donuts, cakes and such. Yummy, as high a compliment as you can pay a bakery. Credit card on $ 2 or more.
