We came to this place on the fly and soooo glad we did! What a gem! All the character and warmth you’d want and expect from a local coffee shop/breakfast spot, but the food really knocked our socks off! Everything is locally sourced, sustainable and/or organic. We had wonderful pancakes, perfect eggs and bacon, and killer home fries. We both opted for(solid) coffee, but the tea selection is legitimate and had I seen it before I ordered a coffee, I would have opted for some Yerba mate. Last but least the bathrooms were clean and the service was on point and charming. If I’m ever anywhere near this area in the future I’ll make this a destination.

I’ve been wanting to stop at this place for a while now but they close pretty early(as does almost every place in Newport) so I kept missing my chance to stop in. I was finally able to stop in the other day only because I got off work early. It’s a really cute place! The food on the menu looks very interesting for the area; I wish I had the guts to try some but as soon as I walked up the counter, the girl asked ‘Are you getting food??’. in a tone that implied that she was hoping I was going to say no, so I said no and ended up getting a coffee and a cookie. I thought at first maybe I was coming in close to their closing time but after I sat down, I realized it was well over an hour before they actually closed. Very cute place with good items on the menu but I do not believe the service matches what they are offering. I over heard them tell the only other customer it would be over 30 minutes if they wanted to order food, maybe they’re short staffed or just not properly trained to be serving food to the public. I’d hate to see if this place actually got really busy, the wait would probably be horrendous. But the coffee and cookie were good, nothing spectcular. I ended up going to McDonald’s up the street afterwards to order food. Maybe I set myself up for disappointment because I had high hopes for this place. Will probably not try this place again.

I have been to Espresso yourself a few times with my wife. She goes a couple of times a month for coffee and a bite. I usually just have a coffee beverage(latte or cappuccino). This time we decided to have lunch… my first time trying the food. She had her usual Ham Sub(ham, pepperoni, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion and balsamic vinegar on a baguette). I had the Buffalo Blues(chicken chunks in a buffalo sauce with lettuce, grilled onions, tomato which I omitted and a blue cheese dressing on a multi-grain bread). My wife always enjoys the Ham Sub and I thoroughly enjoyed the Buffalo Blues sandwich. it had a nice spice to it without being too much. The sandwich was a bit sloppy to eat, so I was glad the waitress brought me a fork. The ingredients are organic and fresh and the coffee is very good. I will definitely be back… and not just for the coffee.

Always great food! This is a small Gem hidden in Newport. I go there twice a month at least and haven’t had anything I disliked. Different servers all the time but service is still.

I hate to do it, but my overall experience here is often the miss side of «hit or miss» anymore. And, unfortunately, it’s the only coffee shop for at least a half hour in any direction. Here’s my experience: * Employees are friendly. * Coffee is decent*.(*For this area. In any city it would be low end.) * Food is good, but often slow. * Internet works one out of every 3 times I’m here. Constant wrestling with the signal and timeouts/total package losses on website requests. * When I bring up the slow/not working internet I get one of two responses: it should be working you should restart your computer(aka the BS answer) or the shoulder shrug(«sorry I can’t do anything. Only the manager can, and they’re not here»). I reviewed this place as a 4-star place, but I realized something. It’s only a 4-star place in the context of where it is; and someone FROM the area is going to come here regardless of my review. But, I want to save the time of the 322 traveller, of the Perry county sojourner. Highlights: * If you’re vegan and have the time to wait for food, stop in. It’s worth it. * If you’re traveling along the abandoned corridor of 322, grab your coffee and get back on the road. * If you want to drink some coffee and get some work done, go to McDonalds. The coffee is worse, but you’ll actually be able to get some work done.

I got an iced coffee and a muffin here. The muffin was very fresh and pretty tasty. The coffee however was presweetened or flavored. I ordered it black but got one with cream and even more sugar before I told the young lady I don’t like cream and sugar and got my black coffee. I can only imagine how sweet it would have been. I did notice some of the patrons dumping honey over a fruit bowl, So I guess the folks of Newport really like their insulin.

We visited for lunch on a rainy afternoon. Would highly recommend this very quaint place. The Green Goddess Grilled Cheese was so yummy. Also the Ruben and the cream of broccoli soup were delicious. If you are in the area this is must stop. Very friendly too !

This is a great little café! Has a large selection of great, natural food. It also has some awesome gluten free choices that are made fresh each day. The town that this is in is quaint and very interesting too. I highly recommend this to everyone! You will not regret it.

Nice little place in a nice little town. My Grandma lives here and it was great when this café opened up. It’s a cute little shop with a nice local vibe. I’m just glad they didn’t open up a Starbucks in Newport! Thanks for the free wi-fi, good iced coffee on a hot day, and an A+ root-beer float. They have Friday night jam sessions and open mics which seem cool, and a lot of flyers for local events and stuff.

I love this place. I have loved it from the minute I made a quick stop on my way somewhere else. Here are some reasons why you should stop in if you are traveling Route 322 in Pennsylvania. Newport is a hidden gem. I’m not sure how this small town supports an arts and craft gallery of real merit and a health food store, but it does. Espresso Yourself has a great menu but is also offers vegan and vegetarian versions of EVERYTHING on the menu — just ask for the vegan — vegetarian menu to check it out. If you order the veg reuben — and you should — get extra napkins. Or maybe eat it with the knife and fork. This is a true community center. They put local art on the walls — and you can usually buy it. Meetings are hosted here. They bring in musicians. And friends just come in and say hi — life like so many of us wish it could be. It’s a pretty and welcoming space. They have a room that groups can use for events. Call and talk with them about details. Gosh, I am so in love. Check it out here.

While the location of this joint is out-of-the-way, it’s a nice, quaint, cozy café to dine in. As a vegan, I appreciated their extensive, well-highlighted options; they even have a separate vegan menu, which is amazing for rural Pennsylvania. Their tofurkey de la sol sandwich was delectable — tasty, healthy, light and inspired. All of their breads are made on the premises and they also have some pre-packaged vegan cookies. This is a great place, but I just wish they were in a better location like Harrisburg or State College.
