I have been using Jake’s Good Newport on line for my «Life is Good» clothing purchases for a few years now. I have never been disappointed in the service or quality. Once on a clearance item they called me to tell me it had a dust mark in the fold and do I still want the shirt. I am also amazed at how quickly I receive my order! A week ago I ordered a tee shirt for a visitor from England. I placed the order Thursday morning, thinking I will mail it to him after he leaves. But that tee shirt arrived in Saturday’s mail, the day before my friend went home! You can’t get better service anywhere like I have from Jake’s Good Newport!

Shopping on Thames Street in Newport, we came across the Life is Good store. They had a great selection of Life is Good merchandise, as well as good quality Newport shirts(one of which I got for $ 9.99!). I purchased the Newport shirt for me and a Life is Good T-shirt as a gift. I was being«helped» by a cashier who apparently was still new and in training. Over her shoulder was the manager, explaining what to do. Step by step, and then correcting the cashier with each and every wrong move she made.(Wasn’t there any pre-training? Or was this girl really that stupid?) Anyway, I noticed that she ripped off the Life is Good tag from the shirt that I was giving as a gift. I asked about taking it with me because I wanted the gift recipient to know that it *was* a gift(i.e., brand new and not just something I picked up at Goodwill). The manager then chimed in and said that they keep the tags for inventory. WTF? Don’t they have a better inventory system than that? I then asked about returning it then without tags. She said to just bring them the receipt if I needed to return it. Would that be the receipt in two pieces that was stapled together by your inept cashier? While the selection is good, the checkout is a bit atrocious. 15 minutes later, I was finally on my way.
