This is a very well-used community library! They have a huge kids area downstairs and stock some really interesting selections for middle-schoolers. I wanted to check out half of the books! They have meetings rooms downstairs that you can reserve or get if they’re available. Very nice for 2 – 4 people but a little crowded after that. There’s a larger room down there as well for rent and you can often find free film screenings, writing workshops or other events going on. Ask at the front desk for more information. The community computers are one-hour per user per day and I think you have to have a library card but I might be wrong. If they didn’t have this policy, they would never be available. I like the displays the staff do, especially the staff picks and special interest stuff. It’s well-thought out and meant to bring books to people’s attention that they might otherwise never encounter. Their new fiction section is strange to me and I’ve never found anything there I like. I much prefer the new books section at the Siletz Library which has lots of really interesting non-fiction selections as well.(Siletz is in a different library system, FYI.) There’s a pretty big DVD selection that is weighted very heavily towards classic films and BBCTV shows, which probably suits the demographic pretty well. Restrooms are upstairs and downstairs. There’s plenty of parking in the lot or on the street and they are fully handicap accessible.
