The Newport Inn

We found ourselves constantly waiting on our wait staff, to the point my girlfriend had to go up to the bar to get a refill on water. The burger was large, but that’s about all it had going for it, as they nickel and dime you for sides and toppings. I don’t see myself returning.

Our first visit since it was renamed. We went in at lunch time. Both waitresses were friendly and the service was very good. We both ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. The burgers looked like they were cooked in a microwave oven. Grey exterior and undercooked. There was not even a hint of sear on the patty. The blood from the ground beef soaked the bun and fries. It also didn’t taste like there was any seasoning at all. The French fries were also under cooked. To their credit they asked how the food was and when I voiced my thoughts they were apologetic and said we should have sent them back. After our experience here, next time we want a burger we’ll go to Larsons which is where we were heading when we decided to try the Newport Inn.

Stopped in to the Newpot Inn today for a picther of beer and a burger. The pitcher was pretty cheap and the burger was handmade and massive. Not much more you can ask for in a local dive bar. They also had the Detroit Redwings game on TV which was right up my alley. Will definitely come back again.

Came in here with a friend and the bartender never asked us what we would like. I figured they might just be busy, but then and older gentleman sat next to us and got served right away. We were being ignored on purpose. I have never been to this establishment previously and will never go back.
We ended up leaving after waiting for about twenty minutes and went to Pete’s garage down the road, which was excellent.

Great burgers in a dive-​type atmosphere. Amazing specials (such as free pool on tuesdays, wednesday dollar domestic beers, and Saturday dollar pit burgers to name a few) and friendly waitstaff makes this my new favorite place to grab a beer and burger.
