My son worked for this company for several weeks in July /August of 2015. When he interviewed with the owner, she told him he would be paid $ 9.00/hour plus tips, however that was not the case! She said for the first 2 weeks she would pay him $ 6.00/hour plus tips because she wanted to make sure he was going to stay on. He was a diligent employee and showed up to last minute shift changes that were text messaged to him at all hours of the day & night. She also made all the drivers/runners turn their tips in to her at the end of their shifts and the next day or the next time they worked she would disperse the tips as she saw fit. Isn’t this illegal? He is a recent college graduate and requested 2 days off well in advance to attend a family gathering in his honor. She assigned him to these days anyway, so he decided to put in his 2 weeks notice. She has owed him for 39 hours of work at $ 9.00/hour since the beginning of August. He has sent her several emails and even went to speak to her in person at the end of August. She promised that the money would be deposited to his account within 2 weeks. We are now going into the 4th week and still no money! The woman who runs this company has absolutely no moral or ethical standards and takes complete advantage of the young folks she employs! We will be reporting her to the Attorney Generals Office immediately!
