Yanna’s Taverna

One of my favorite greek places.
They always have daily specials. Their appetizers have all been amazing so far. Their gyros are tasty, but don’t be afraid to try something different!
I love the appetizer sampler and the «flaming cheese». Very small with limited seating, but worth the wait

Great hummus and Greek salad. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other items on the menu.

Great hole in the wall Greek food! A little different from what we were used to and definitely focused on sea food, but good food. The rice pudding was awesome too! Doesn’t look like much from the outside but definitely worth the visit.

Lamb chops were amazing. Love the potatoes sliced potatoes. .seasoned so well. Pita appetizers were delicious

Delicious gyro… Others in my party really enjoyed the chicken kabob and spanakopita. Really flavorful.

Great service with an exceptional menu and execution in the kitchen. I really wish there was one close to where I live !

Not only was the food great but the employees are nice, it’s kinda small but worth it!!!

Probably passed by many times without noticing but this little spot is quite nice. Wife had Greek salad and I the grilled shrimp salad. Salads were very fresh and shrimp was tastily prepared and well proportioned. We dined on the very pleasantly tucked away patio. Nice ambience and we will certainly be back to try more of the many other menu items.

Delicious meal and great service. I had a whole fish, delicious. The baklava was devine.

We love this restaurant! Fresh and flavorful with a very friendly staff. From casual lunches when we are in town visiting Christopher Newport University lacrosse games to special birthday dinners, this is a favorite. Don’t miss out on the fish of the day…

This restaurant has been great the two times that I have visited. The first time I had a double portion of the prok chops. The second time, I came with a group and had the feta/​spinach stuffed salmon which was amazing. The baklavah is made well in a pie format (instead of the layered style) and the dolmadokias were on point! (I was upset when I didn’t notice the last one left on the plate while the waittress took them away :’(
The atmosphere is a family type feel and good for a family (or close friend) dinner.
I will definitely come back again if the opportunity arises.

We’ve been here many times! Always excellent! Chicken Lemonatto is great in a light lemon and artichoke sauce. The traditional Greek dishes are delicious! Reasonably priced, great service!

I’ve always passed this restaurant and wondered about it. Last night we went out for my cousins birthday and she chose here. First off the aroma that smacks you in the face when you open the door is mouth watering. The restaurant itself had a happy friendly vibe as we took our seats. The server was friendly and knowledgable while telling us the specials. It’s always nice when you can see an employee enjoying their job first hand. We all order. 3 of us got shrimp kabobs and one a platter I can’t remember the name of. We were recommended the potatoes instead of the rice by my cousin and wow they were amazing. The salads were nicely sized. The bread was crunchy but not too hard, perfect really. When the main course came, it was like a whole new food excitement. The plate was arranged nicely and the flavor of everything was to die for. The seasoning on the shrimp was perfect, not over powering but enhancing of the seafood flavor.
I give this place 5 stars and a high recommendation. You’ll thank me.

AMAZING!!! We were stopping in a store at the opposite end of the parking lot when we smelled an amazing aroma that drew us in. We walked over and found this wonderful restaurant and the food was flavorful, fresh and soooooo delicious!!! I would eat here everyday if I could! YUM!

Greek food is different. Unfortunately, most chefs believe they need to tweek their recipes so that the American palate can tolerate it.
This is an exceptional Greek restaurant and the food was very good, except I like my lemon sauce just that, lemony”. Theirs is very dialed back. Too, I had one of their specials, chicken lemanato. The lemon sauce had no depth of flavors, but the chicken was good. It also included artichokes but a bit too fibery. Not enough leaves removed. I did try their stuffed grape leaves-​excellent. Their chicken and rice soup was very good, but again I prefer much more lemon. The greek salad was a little too small. The iced tea was freshly brewed and very good. I enjoyed it enough that i will return to try more authentic greek dishes. There are several I’m interested in. I would and do recommend this Taverna to all who may be interested in exploring né flavors and food experiences.

Got the chicken souvlaki salad with tzatziki sauce and it was delicious! My only complaint is that my salad only had two olives in it.

Great service, fantastic food & authentic preparation! We will be back. The new bridge brought us to a new favorite Greek Restaurant!

I go to your there a lot and I take my family members there as well as friends.
I recommend it to other friends who want Atlantic Greek food. I was told by a very close friend Cheri, she recommended and took me there and I loved it too fell in love with Yannis!

Been there a few times for the Gyro (once for dine in and about 3 times for pick up). Cozy restaurant and great, attentive service when I dined in. I was maybe the only other person there, so food definitely came out in a reasonable time hot and fresh. Pick service is fast and food hot when I pick it up in a timely manner.
Haven’t tried anything but the Gyro (I’m sure its all good but I never know what to pick) but I will definitely try to here.
