Dairy Queen

I am only giving this Dairy Queen one star because Unilocal does not give me the option to give 0 stars. I was visiting my Mom in Newton Falls from California & was really looking forward to an ice cream from here because it is the closest Dairy Queen to my Mom & they have crunch sprinkles which are my absolute favorite. I love them, but I have never been able to find these kind of sprinkles in California. well anyway, I ordered a banana split with those sprinkles & ate some of my ice cream before finally deciding to go back up to the window to ask if the girl could put more sprinkles on it since they were stingy with the amount they put on to begin with. the girl was rather rude & said that they can’t take the ice cream back once it’s been eaten from (which is ironic because when I went to this place last year the girl who served me my ice cream had long, dirty looking acrylic nails on & swiped her nail around the edges of my banana split plastic ice cream holder in an attempt to get the sprinkles out of the grooves so the lid would close – yes, I asked for another ice cream without the added & definitely unwanted ingredients/​nail funk).& after she told me that she couldn’t take it back, I even offered to pay for the sprinkles if she would give me a cup of them. that was a no as well. luckily I found a website online where I can buy the sprinkles. a 10lb. bag of them for $ 35. I feel like buying it just to throw it at the girl who made it such a big deal to just give me another spoonful of sprinkles. I should’ve just bought another ice cream & said, «Now this time, don’t be so chintzy with the sprinkles. load em’ up!», but I was full on ice cream. I just wanted the darn sprinkles! Also, they rarely carry the sugar free buster bars & my mom is a diabetic. she can’t eat the regular ice creams. they also never have the sugar free orange creamsicles or the sugar free raspberry creamsicles. you would think they would be more willing to make these small accommodations for their customers to keep them happy & coming back for more. What a great impression this place had on me. I will never be back there again. Ever! Sprinkle police!

No one has reviewed the Newton Falls Dairy Queen? It’s a long time Newton Falls tradition, especially if you played baseball or softball. Only open in the warm months, it’s one of the true signs of spring. You walk up to the window to place your order and then either eat at the picnic tables or take your food home with you. Chili dogs, blizzards, and peanut buster parfaits are my favorites.
