Great store, Great Service!!! Very knowledgable. Great place to purchase shoes for spinning class or biking. They do custom fitting and you know you’re in the right shoe. I wouldn’t go anyplace else.

I scheduled a bike fitting and worked with Mark. After the fitting while they adjusted my ride, they let me take out a demo bike for an hour while they fixed everything.
Their knowledge spans the entire spectrum of cycling experience, and the shop definitely caters towards the higher end if you take a look at the brands they sell and the services they provide.
With that said they don’t push you to spend $$ you don’t have and are happy to work with you to find the best options for the experience you are looking for.
I’ve been to a half dozen or more bike shops in Boston/​Greater Boston area over the last decade and this was probably the best experience yet.

These guys are awesome — they definitely know the high end of road cycling, but they are warm, friendly, and generous with their time and expertise with every customer, regardless of level or budget. I’ve had a fitting, a tune-​up, some new tires/​helmet, etc over the course of the summer, and feel like I’ve finally found a place that actually cares about my riding experience and wants me to get the most out of it. They ask good questions and make good recommendations; they are pragmatic, cost-​conscious (when the customer needs it), and really, just the nicest folks you will ever see at a bike shop.

I came to have my bike serviced, and they couldn’t have done a better job. Very knowledgeable, very friendly, very professional.
One Saturday, I came in when someone who kind of seemed like he was the owner was there. He said something to the effect of, Newton needed a place like this. I couldn’t agree more.

I am an indoor cyclist, and went to see Mark for a shoe consultation.
I have terrible feet and wanted to find a better shoe.
I am in complete heaven! I was fit with new cycling shoes and tested them out today and was thrilled that everything I was told about the shoe, the fit, the comfort was true and it made my ride so much more enjoyable.
If I can transition to road cycling, I would buy a bike from these guys in a heartbeat.
They live and breathe cycling!

Fantastic new addition to the bike scene in Newton! This store is specialized in high end road bikes, so you don’t have to wade through kids bikes, mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, commuters etc., but there’s none of the high end attitude. Seth, one of the mechanics, actually opened the store when it was officially closed to show me around and Mark spent over an hour helping me pick out and try on the perfect shoes and then another hour+ fitting them and getting the cleats/​petals just right for me. They also did a detailed tuneup on my bike getting it road ready for the spring. They made me feel totally comfortable even though I’m not that intense of a rider and I have a mid-​range off-​the-​shelf bike. They had suggestions and ideas, but never any pressure. I highly recommend Apex Velo!
