Typically, I’m not a fan of fake. Fake people, fake flowers, and fake money, really do nothing for me. But, I had a situation where silk flowers were in order… to help memorialize someone at a time when real flowers or plants would look pretty bad after an hour in the cold. I found this shop via Unilocal, decided to take a look in person, and was very impressed with the selection and quality of their homage to natural flora. If I were feeling a little bit more loose with my credit card, I would have purchased a beautiful orchid along with my two little arrangements. Don, the owner, was delightful. I felt like we were old friends after spilling my guts, describing the reason behind the purchase. I don’t normally do stuff like that. Don, if you are reading, thank you. Surprise interactions with people like you put a bit of sparkle back into life for me.

This shop is extraordinary. They design beautiful arrangements, using their own unusual containers or yours that you bring in, with a sense of artistry that is rare. and they are fun! I have made many purchases here, and everyone thinks the flowers are real!

So far I’m a fan of Blossoms in Newton. It’s a quaint little floral shop on Lincoln street. The flowers are all silk and artificial, but they certainly look real. It has tons of fun flowers and décor for your home or office. If I had more money(not being a poor grad student) I would have purchased a few things from here! There is, however, a few items I’m definitely going to make a return trip for. Additionally, I was greeted by a friendly employee, unlike at the boutique across the street where they don’t even acknowledge you when you walk in; even if you are the only customer in the tiny shop! Places like that are not worth my time. 4 stars from me =)
