I have visited Blue Moon Tavern several times over the past year and have not been impressed. if you enjoy craft beer and sandwiches, this is the place for you. However; I prefer good food correctly prepared without the noise of a tavern. if that is what you enjoy, so be it.

I used to come here a lot to get salads and hadn’t come quite as frequently lately but today for lunch I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and found a long hair in my side salad. The manager offered to replace the salad but I declined because it takes upwards of 10 – 15 minutes to find a park downtown. Though she ultimately refunded my debit card I would have liked to have gotten a side salad without hair to begin with. With that being said, if you you’re anal about cleanliness, chances are the cooks aren’t wearing hairnets. The chicken salad sandwich was just ok-​especially when you have to eat it in hopes of not finding anything in it.

LOOOVE this place! Saturday breakfast and the blackened chicken pasta are my two favorite things this little place serves up! This sweet little resturant popped up out of nowhere in Downtown Newton, the perfect place if you ask me. The atmosphere is always so welcoming and friendly, with wonderful staff! The prices are so pleasing as well, always reasonable for the flavor their dishes have. Besides the occasional busy Friday night, I have no complaints to give! I will be a happy customer as long as I live in Newton!

I walked in to a atmosphere out of a 1950’s noire film!!! Rustic yet some how modern! I ordered the loaded potato skins as a appetizer and for the main dish a reasonably priced shrimp Alfredo. The cheesy bacon packed spuds where paired with a delicious in house ranch that screamed flavor!!! The main dish was a creamy idol of pasta topped with perfectly cooked shrimp!!! 10 out of 5 stars!!! Wonderful place to eat!!!

Neat little spot in small town Americana. I sat outside as it was a nice day so it was quiet and it wasn’t to watch Main St. roll by. The town was decorating the courthouse (?) across the street for Christmas so that was a nice side benefit.
The food was very good. I got a mushroom and cheeseburger. Properly cooked and moist.

Every time I’m in Newton, I eat here at least once. They have some healthy menu selections and I give give stars for that reason. Service is excellent here.
Their Wi-​Fi works, prices are appropriate, and they have some of the healthiest menu selections in this part of the country.

Food very good, great service. A little loud, but there was a big birthday party upstairs. So they are good for events. I would more than likely go back. Oh the cheese cake is AWESOME.

This place is pretty cool! It’s in the old town square it seems. Really good atmosphere, families, couples, friends just hanging out enjoying some good burgers and such… Really clean, good selection of beers, live music… Would be a nice Friday night hangout place if we were from the area…
