I’m a sucker for good customer service, so this is a customer service review, not a review of their products. I have not yet received the products, but I wanted to give a fair review of their customer service as I have had a very good experience with them. I will return and give them another review later once I receive/install the sound deadening material I’ve ordered. I’ve been wanting to sound deaden my noisy 2006 Scion xB for a long time. Seriously, when driving my car you hear whistling noises the same as the wind picking up outside the haunted house in a horror film, just before the movie monster attacks the scantily clad female extra and her soon-to-be-frustrated-and-horrified boyfriend. Back on topic… when the head unit on the stock stereo finally gave up the ghost last month, after a years-long fight, I could finally justify the expense of sound deadening along with a new stereo. After a few days of research I decided to take the recommendation of a caraudio-savvy friend to check out eDead products. First of all, their pricing was better than competitors who sell similar products. I was going to pay 3x as much to buy the same amount of materials from another company. Since almost everything I wanted from them was sold out, I went ahead and pre-ordered. Searching for the specific product I wanted and ordering was very simple, as it should be for an online vendor. Shipping costs were a little expensive, but that’s to be expected when they’re shipping you many, many pounds of bulky material. No biggie. So, lo-and-behold, today I got an email from them advertising a special incentive to customers pre-ordering materials. A 25% discount. I thought to myself«wait a minute, I already ordered this stuff, let me call them and see if they’ll apply the discount to my order.» What can I say, sometimes I’m a cheap bastage. So I called up. As in most internet-sales scenarios, I was fully expecting the phone to either go straight to an automated system, or ring four to five times and then go to a voice mail. Instead, after one ring, a pleasant, professional sounding guy named Alex answered the phone, listened to my request, and immediately fulfilled it by asking if I’d like 25% more product, or 25% off the purchase price. His friendliness and eagerness to comply was an awesome experience, and I was off the phone in less than 2 minutes. I couldn’t be more happy with the service I received today.
