BECAREFUL. I first ordered address labels 2 years ago and I was happy with them. When I recently placed a repeat order it arrived with a misprint. Unfortunately, Felix Doolittle will do little to remedy this situation and I am stuck with about 100 very expensive labels that I cannot use.

Yes, I too found out about Felix Doolittle because of Oprah(I believe when I was once reading her magazine). For my wedding two and a half years ago, I had a hydrangea theme going on and Felix had a a lovely return address label with bright blue hydrangeas that I just had to have. From there, I ordered winter return address labels for Christmas cards, spring floral bouquet labels, pineapple labels, and now«It’s a Boy» return address labels with little elephants on them(to be used with baby boy’s birth announcements :). I signed up for e-mails with the company quite a while ago and I frequently receive messages about specials they have and this is when I spend money on purchases. Now, their stationery is not cheap($ 30 for fifty return address labels), but they have discounts often enough. And you really cannot get anything like them anywhere else on the internet; believe me, I’ve looked. Felix also carries wedding invitations, baker’s labels, thank-you notes, and seasonal products, such as Valentine’s cards. You can even commission Felix to paint your own home to put on personal stationery. I’m sure it’s pricey but check out their gallery– the work is simply exquisite. Due to the advent of e-mails and facebook, we don’t have much of a need for personal, handwritten notes and I find that very sad. I like having fancy stationery and beautiful, unique return address labels. A hand-written card means a lot more to me than an e-mail or an fb message. They say not only a lot about the Felix Doolittle company, but they also say a lot about me and my personal style.

I will spend lots of money on fine stationery. I have known about Felix Doolittle and its founder, Felix Fu, for a while, largely because Oprah blew up his spot a couple of years ago. I went for an open house and was able to actually meet Felix, who is kind, and down to earth, and noted that there are lots of people in the world who can draw; what he hopes can tip the scale in his favor is that the work he and his crew do is original, of high quality and done with lots of love(my interpretation). I don’t even know if there’s an actual retail store, but the website is full-service. So, feel free to stock up on book plates, note cards, baking labels, and everything else you put into your cart while«looking» around. It’s really paper porn for the eyes. Sooo glad I drove out to West Newton to check him out. Now, I’m a fan forever!!!
