The people at GBRC Newton are always helpful at the store and take all the time you need to pick out a running shoe. In addition, they took a return of running shoes that had been worn outside! Thank you, GBRC, for getting me into a new pair of shoes quickly and with being so encouraging with my upcoming race!

The Newton Branch of the Boston Running Store has a extensive inventory of running and walking sneakers for all ages with the exception of sneakers for woman needing wide widths. They resolved my problem by reaching out to the New Balance Office
for a remedy.
Within 24 hours I received a call to return to the Newton store to try a pair of sneakers that were sent from the factory.
They fit perfectly. I applaud my sales person for not giving up, for her commitment to finding me a pair of sneakers that fit and the other staff members of the company who were involved.
I would highly recommend you visit this store to take advantage of their exceptional service and large inventory of running/​walking shoes

I am new to running and stopped in GBRC to purchase some running shoes. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I ran on their gait machine to figure out the best fit. Katie explained to me what she was looking for and found a few different pairs that would work for me. I tried them on and was able to run on the treadmill to make sure they worked. She even told me about their group runs. I will definently be back!

I stopped by in September, with the issue that when I ran long distances I would get horrible blisters. Instead on insisting I get new sneakers, the worker there, told me I should try new socks and some body glide. Which, as you would know, is a lot cheaper then new running sneakers. Well it totally solved the issue as I was able to run a ½ marathon with no blisters. I so appreciated the fact that they didn’t insist on the more expensive option that I will be back soon to buy my new running shoes for 2014. Great place I highly recommend it

I was thrilled to see the GBRC opening in Newton Centre. First, it’s not a bank. Second, I thought it great to have such a resource close by. Third, it’s just a cool looking place.
I went in a few days ago. Two young men were working there. no one else was in the store. Both of the clerks were sitting down. One guy sat on his butt eyes glued to the screen of his iPhone. He NEVER looked up. The other clerk who sat next to him did not get up when I walked in either.
Now I know: I am not a sexy Newton woman. I am not a ripped extreme athlete. I am an older man who you’d call portly if you were being kind. I am not a buff dude. I am an older man with money in my pocket ready to try yet again to embark on a fitness campaign.
I asked the clerk sitting on his butt without the iPhone if he could help me find a sleeveless running shirt in xl or xxl. «We don’t have any.» ok, I said, do you have any xxl jerseys in the store? Then he actually got up! «No. Maybe you could order them from somewhere» he said and then he sat down next to the other clerk.
He didn’t say, «Look at these xls. I bet they’d fit. Want to try it on?» Or, «We have some other cool stuff.» Or, «What’s your shoe situation?»
Nothing. I was made to feel unwelcome in a retail store, which is the kiss of death for any business that relies on walk-​in customers. All it would have taken is a little personal treatment, some interest in my reasons for being there. I could’ve been a $ 350 sale. Instead I went to City Sports.
Lesson to be learned at GBRC: Fat older men are interested and savvy customers deserving of your attention, too. Disrespecting anyone in your establishment is insufferable. If there were a zero stars designation I’d be all over it – wearing my City Sports xxl jersey.
