Expensive(its a convenience store, not a grocery store), but good. Primarily good for stoners who have the munchies(good selection of ice cream, chips, cereal, drinks, candies, pastries, etc). Good coffee and tea in the morning. Has cigarettes, blunts, rolling papers, wine, and beer, which is helpful if you live down the street. Opens at 5 or 6 am and closes at 10 every night(used to be 11 but they got robbed and cant afford to stay open as late). Also good if you’re baking something but forgot an ingredient at the market, for they have some staple baking supplies(flour, sugar, vanilla, cookie/brownie mix, baking soda, baking powder, eggs, oil, milk, cream, cocoa powder). This is a townie spot on the town, however, frequented by lake die-hards that say mush a lot and some sketchy waltham people.

Its a run of the mill Kwik-e-Mart. Located nextdoor and owned by the same people as the neighboring laundromat, it offers what people who don’t own laundering equipment may want. Cheap beer, check. Cheap wine, check. Cigarettes, check. Lottey, check. This isn’t a tedeschi, don’t come in expecting two red bulls for $ 3.33. Its a subsidy of a laundromat, suckling the last pennies out of people who are, well… stuck there for an hour.

It’s really convenient to have this store literally a block from my house. Great to run over if I need eggs or cookie mix! No complaints.

This is a pretty well-stocked convenience store that seems to offer a lot of items on the shelves but not much else — most especially customer service. Located in a stretch of small businesses near the Newton/Waltham line, Highlander Farms has the various small grocery staples — water, milk, eggs, candy, snacks, the lottery and the newspaper. Beer and wine are a plus here and prices are relatively reasonable, especially compared to other parts of Newton. However…customer service could stand some improvement. I’ve never felt all that«welcome,» here and have a few times taken my business elsewhere just on the basis of not-so-pleasant vibe I’ve gotten while in here. There’s a lot of potential here but improvements behind the counter are needed.
