THIS Lowe’s location is pretty good. The staff is helpful and the departments are laid out in an orderly fashion. We have used the home istallation service to put in our front door and we’re happy with the result.

Hello, on this past Saturday morning I went to the Lowes located on 39 Hampton House Rd, Newton, NJ7860. I had at least 9 pipe bursts in my summer home I was opening in Sparta. I had a really hard time fitting one of the pipes and need help(a lot.) It took me three days to fix this. Dennis from the plumbing section of your store, helped me understand that it was going to be a severe challenge fixing, because he could tell it was mechanical piping not copper plumbing pipe. He helped me out immensely and helped me size the pipe I brought in because I didn’t have the tool, and helped me buy the right fittings, files, cutter and compression fittings to ensure I could get the job done over the weekend. If he hadn’t been there I would have had to waiting until Tuesday to go to a HVAC store to get the right piping. He was immensely helpful patient, and asking intelligent questions to understand what I was working with and explained and show to me in detail what we needed to do to get it fixed. Without his knowledge and over the top help I would have had to call a plumber.

I really wanted to add a positive review here. I can’t honestly give them more than three stars though. I want to rate as two or one, but I am saving that honor for other businesses that really deserve it. After all, you’re Lowe’s. It’s a corporate giant and no one really cares. You don’t pay anyone enough to care! LOWE’s lives up to the Sussex County standards. They don’t care. They don’t care, and the just don’t care. All that is missing is a giant 4X4 pickup truck with a giant middle finger flipping you the bird mounted on top of the building. I think the outside vendors passing through the store are a bit more friendly than the staff. They seem to stock about 50% less than any other Lowe’s in the area. 9 times out of 10, I have to drive back to Mt. Olive to get what I needed as Netwon Lowe’s was out. I don’t want to be too hard on these folks, but seriously wish Sussex County businesses would step up their game. It’s becoming an area to simply avoid unless you have no other option. Have to say, Home Depot of Newton is worlds better than this Lowe’s. Can’t see it staying open for many more years at this rate.
