While normally, this type of industry and procedure is something I wouldn’t publicly review, I imagine most feel that way and thus a great doctor like Dr. Silverman ends up getting no reviews other than irate patients who either never used him or had unrealistic expectations. Several years ago I was diagnosed with gynecomastia. While it sounds serious it simply means extra breast tissue(not fat usually) in men that can develop naturally during puberty, early 20s, or in older age. After determining it wasn’t cancerous, I decided to wait a few years to see if it would get worse or better on it’s own. It didn’t change so I decided to get it surgically taken care of as it’s horrible for ones self esteem since it’s something working out or dieting can’t resolve. I researched details on the surgery and watched the nauseating YouTube videos to see what I would be in for. Dr. Silverman had a heavy presence in online fitness forums so discovered him early on. The other practices seemed to focus more on liposuction rather than tissue removal as well as less modern methods. The biggest benefit is Dr. Silverman specializes in male gynecomastia where most other doctors it’s simply one small bullet in a long list. He also caters to Provincetown meaning completely welcoming of LGBT. I called to find out the next most important part, the price which I assumed they would say, «it depends». But they immediately provided a price that covers the entire process and special financing is available through CareCredit. While not the cheapest, his price seemed quite competitive compared to others I talked to. The british receptionist Coco has to be the sweetest most friendly woman I’ve ever spoken with. There is a small consultation fee that goes towards the surgery if you move forward with him. I set up a consult for the follow week. He was incredibly knowledgeable and I felt comfortable moving forward. The surgery was scheduled for about a month later and they made sure I was fully prepared. The surgery went very smoothly. Everyone’s body is different, but in my case the medication took a little while to take affect so the first 20 or so minutes were very painful post-op, but once they took effect felt a million times better other than very nauseous. I get motion sickness so that may have contributed to it. Went home shortly after and took it easy for the next few days. My body was covered in bruises(as expected) that took a few weeks to go away as well as some swelling. You wear a provided compression vest for the first month all the time. The first follow up was quick and easy, and just had my second which showed everything has healed perfectly. No scars. Just two tiny dots under my arm pits that are continuing to fade away. Have another follow up in 6 months. I’m so happy with the results and was the best investment I could have made in myself. While I haven’t had procedures with anyone else so can only comment on Dr. Silverman, I can say with 100% confidence that he does incredible work for men with gynecomastia and you should definitely consider him when researching your options. If you have particular questions on the process feel free to message me privately.
